Some ward staff , very few, didn’t show much compassion and we’re rather abrupt but on the whole nursing was excellent.

i would never recommend this hospital. before the op nurses ask me if i was having a local anaesthetic, i replied NO, i am having a general anaesthetic. they then had to apparently scramble to find an anaesthetist!! so unprepared!! even if you are not a nervous patient you will be after coming here!! also was left for fours hours on my own without any nurse coming to check if i was ok!! only the student nurse came in to check my vitals!! never coming here again.

We sincerely apologise that you felt we didn't meet our normal high standards of care during your procedure with us. The confusion regarding the local and general anaesthetic was a communication issue, which we regret. I'd like to reassure you that you were booked correctly to undergo a general anaesthetic and we had an anaesthetist prepared and on hand in Theatres who was working with your surgeon on that day. We do appreciate however that this would have been upsetting if this was not communicated clearly. We are also sorry to hear that you felt you did not receive a high level of care on the Ward. Our procedure on the day of your surgery was that the Duty Nurse undertook your first observations and the Student Nurse completed the follow up observations at the correct intervals. Following any Student Nurse checks the Duty Nurse always reviews her work and documents this. I believe this was shown to you on the day to reassure you. Again we apologise and hope that you will come back to us for any healthcare needs in the future. Please feel free to call us on 01707 44 33 33 if you would like to discuss this any further.

I was very well treated by all the staff. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make you welcome . Nothing was too much trouble & whenever they were needed they would come to help you, especially in the middle of the night.
The facilities were very good and were very clean. My only criticism would be that the easy chairs were not adjustable & I found that I could not sit in them for very long because my feet couldn't touch the ground.

I needed to have treatment for a hernia and decided to have my treatment at the One Hospital, Hatfield. I cannot thank everyone enough for their care and support. Everything was excellent, from my initial consultant appointment through to my operation and stay in hospital. Being an elderly gentleman I felt a little anxious beforehand but I had no need to worry as everyone was there to support me and put my mind at ease. The care I received was exemplary. Thank you.

I could not fault the care given by all members of team, they were absolutely brilliant, made me feel very comfortable and gave me all the information I needed to make a full recovery.
Personal thanks to Dr Parwez, Hannah (ward nurse), Becky and Jordan (physios) and the rest of the team who helped throughout the day.

One Hatfield is very well run. It is very clean, has friendly approachable staff and offers great services by proffesional people. I particularly like the friendly nature if the staff and found then understanding and easy to talk to which made me very comfortable in their presence

The staff at this hospital were nothing short of exceptional. As a severe needle and vein phobic person I had delayed surgery on my back and suffered with sciatica for two years. A recent flair had left me unable to sit down for 12 weeks.
The team here are the first team to ever manage to keep me at a reasonably calm level and get me through giving blood and subsequent operation. They helped me face all of my fears and did it step by step with me rather than assume they understood my phobia.
Being unable to take my husband and feeling utterly helpless to face my phobia during covid measures was not an issue with such a fantastic team taking care of me.
Edith assisted blood taking and because she was so wonderful and calming I asked her if she could be present during my procedure, she arranged this for me and walked me down to the theatre and kept me on track to go ahead and not let my irrational fear take over. She was there whilst I was was put under and there when I woke with a friendly face and voice to help me through trauma and enormity of what I had achieved.
Kristina was my nurse through day and again nothing was too much trouble, I felt truly listened to here and not like a burden because of irrational phobias.
Dr Bhagawhati was informative, caring and again just an exceptional medical professional who made sure that my phobia was addressed with dignity and respect. The procedure has immediately relieved my sciatica pain and I am now on the road to recovery.
I could not have wished for a better experience to get me through much needed surgery. It has given me confidence that my phobia does not have to dictate my life and there are places and teams such as those at the Hatfield one who are willing to listen to you and guide you through every step of the process, always going the extra mile to achieve a successful outcome.

I (Christopher Johnson) had Radiofrequency Ablation performed by Dr Mohammed Ahmed on the 13th of August who explained what was going to happen prior to the procedure. Dr Ahmed had previously carried out a Medial Branch Block procedure in April, throughout both procedures Dr Ahmed has put me at ease in a professional manner and shown immense compassion in regards to the back pain which I have been suffering over the last couple of years.
Additionally, Becky who carried out my observations and provided care while I was in my hospital room was amazing and is a real credit to One Hatfield Hospital. In fact, all of the hospital staff were exceptionally caring, compassionate and professional.

Very good service all round,I’m finding it hard to find any faults.
Easy to find,lots of parking, receptionist very polite,very clean, appointment on time.
First visit would of been nice to see pictures on wall of DR’s so I could recognise but struggling to find anything to say.
