Review of Ward D

Nursing care extremely good. Friendly, caring and efficient. Standard of food below average particularly cooked food - unappetising Ward bathroom - toilet seat damaged unhygenic. Use of one TV + one remote control

Be honest you can't improv anything because care was fantastic and on high level.

Care very good. Could have done with more pain relief (L2\3 fusion), in the 1st 24 hours discharge - given leaflet for discectomy, but some of the information was not correct for spinal fusion, ie driving times. Noone picked up the fact that I take naproxin. I asked consultant if I could take it. He said it was not advised when having bone fusion.

I could not fault the TLC from every member of staff, whatever their job was. Just disappointed I wasn't able to see the consultant whom I am now under to talk to him, also anaesthetist to see if I can have an orthopaedic operation for hip replacement.

Regular patient nurse contact was really good. Just need to inform patient what they can do after the operation and when they go home more.

Everything about it was excellent, the only thing I would say an extra pair of hands would be useful.

Great staff. Nice clean and friendly environment. Food ok, though main course lunches and dinners were not so great as they were always over cooked by they time they arrived, especially the vegetables.

The ward is a friendly welcoming environment. This time I was on a 4 bed all female ward and felt I had plenty of privacy if I needed it and companionship from the other patients at the same time. All the staff are friendly, which is great and helps you to be put at ease despite not feeling so great. The staff know their roles and work well as a team from the Doctors down to the cleaning people (by the way the ward was very clean). The nurses are skilled and very caring and despite being very busy they will give you all the time you need. I have been on this ward a number of times and each time I have been extremely impressed by the quality of my care, thank you for doing such a great job ward D – keep up the good work.
