Following inguinal hernia surgery I stayed at the hospital overnight to be monitored. As a precaution I had DVT equipment attached to my legs as I could not move for some hours due to the spinal anaesthetic. For some reason I experienced acute discomfort in the heels of my feet for several hours. The attention of the nursing staff throughout this time during the night was outstanding and the did all they could to alleviate my discomfort which, happily, subsided by early morning. It's at times of personal difficulty that one remembers the care and kindness of those in attendance and they were second to none. As a footnote, the standard of the breakfast and lunch was first class, as was the service. I have no recommendations for improvement to a five star service
