I broke my left humerus in a work related accident in November 2018. Despite the excellent care I received by Mr Polyzois and the team at ST Peter’s hospital, Chertsey my arm would not unite completely on its own and therefore I was still in some discomfort and unable to use my arm fully over a year later. I discussed this with my Consultant, Mr Polyzois, who was very informative with my options and it was agreed that I would need surgery to reset and plate my arm. Although this was a very daunting prospect for myself I was made to feel confident and at ease with the decision. My surgery took place at Nuffield Woking hospital in March 2020, where I was looked after perfectly by the very friendly and helpful staff (from the pre-op assessment, reception staff, nurses, anaesthetist and all involved with my care and overnight stay at the hospital). Two weeks on from my operation my arm is feeling so much better from what it was before. The aftercare I am receiving is second to none, especially considering the extra precautions having to be put in place due to the current Coronavirus situation. I am confident that once I am completely healed from the operation and build the muscles up again with the physiotherapy, I will finally be able to get my life back to normal.
