Your Review: In August, 2021, I attended a pre-assessment appointment at Nuffield Health, Brentwood Hospital in preparation for a ‘day surgery’ for an inguinal repair. The medical Lead of the very competent Pre-Assessment team provided me with an informative and focused understanding of the investigative procedures to be conducted and their medical relevance in preparing me for the day surgery on 31 August, 2021. This high level of professional expertise and proficiency made me very comfortable for my surgery that was to take place in this medical facility. The same caring concern was reinforced on the day of my admission for the procedure. From the moment that I was taken to my ‘day room’, until my evening release, I experienced an exceptional level of attention and care. The early morning preparation for my surgery was conducted in a calm manner that was informative and made me feel confident that I was in excellent hands for a successful outcome. During my afternoon/evening recovery, the careful monitoring of my post-operation condition prompted immediate therapeutic responses as deemed necessary. The attention and interactions of all nursing staff were of high quality and I was most impressed and appreciative of the care and support of the Lead Nurses (J & N) in the Day Surgery Unit as I prepared physically and mentally for my discharge . Though I experienced some technical problems with connecting my Apple IPad with the hospital’s WIFI facility, the discussions of Aussie locations and experiences with a number of the nursing staff provided many uplifting emotional stimuli to distract me from some physical discomfort. Yes, the shared visions of Kakadu, the coastal highlands of North Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef, Wave Rock, etc., were perfect stimuli for my recovery. As I need to attend to ‘blood-thinning’, I was also most appreciative of the attention of the Pharmacy Manager and her staff to the maintenance and recovery of my INR, i.e., sometimes a difficult factor to considered before, during, and after a surgical procedure. On the 31 August, I attended a ‘day surgery’ on my inguinal hernia at Nuffield Brentwood Hospital as an NHS patient. The attending surgeon was Mr Jeddy. Mr Jeddy provided clear and focused explanations in a highly professional manner about my injury and the procedures that he was going to initiate at both my preview meeting, and the morning of the surgery. At all times I felt very confident that I was in excellent hands for a successful outcome. Our follow-up meeting confirmed that the procedure was very successful and that I would be quickly returning to normal activities. I hope that when my ‘knee replacement” surgery is scheduled that I receive comparable level of support and expertise. Dr John Lange

My father Mr John Stockwell had been waiting for 18 months for an NHS hernia operation. Needless to say after 18 months the hernia had become very painful and restrictive for him. We were fortunate enough to see Mr Jeddy at the Nuffied in Brentwood as an NHS patient. Mr Jeddy advised he would try to ensure my dad was considered as priority given his very large hernia. only a few weeks later dad was offered the surgery. Surgery was performed by Mr Jeddy. The care was excellent and dad reported Mr Jeddy dropped in on him just after surgery to see if he was ok (which dad liked). Mr Jeddy was very kind and caring and very self assured which in turn reassured my dad. i would not hesitate to recommend Mr Jeddy, not only was the surgery excellent (dad had a hernia op on his other side a number of years ago and reported much bruising and pain afterwards), dad recovered very quickly with very minimal bruising this time round. Mr Jeddy was very personable and approachable which was a bonus. Thankyou to the Nuffield and Mr Jeddy for giving my dad his smile back!!! he is now pain free. regards Paula Stockwell Lance (daughter).

Had an inguinal hernia repaired in April 2021. Mr Jeddy the consultant undertook the surgery and I cannot fault his care. The hospital team were also outstanding. I was admitted at 7.30am had the operation at 10.30am and was discharged the same day at 8pm. The attention given by the anaesthetist, Mr Jeddy and his team was impeccable. The nursing staff who attended me after the operation were first class. I can only highly recommend the hospital and it’s staff.
