I was so happy that I could share what am experiencing with someone who show compassion and care for me as a patient I was treated with great care and understanding
What I came in for was addressed and the staff actively tried to help me by listening and trying to solve any issues.Thank you to my Sean Adnett who listened and understood and helped me on the road to recovery.
I have long term health conditions which I have been on medication for but which I have now managed to cope with by doing physio and especially hydrotherapy.
I regularly went for hydrotherapy at another hospital before COVID19 meant that all these facilities were no longer available due to the pressures on the NHS.
However, the classes at Northwick Park Hospital are great and have really helped me with my mobility and chronic pain after being unable to find anywhere for the past 2 years.
Katherine was sincere, caring and attentive throughout the consultation. I felt valued She showed genuine compassion which went a long way in making feel comfortable to share my experience and situation honestly and openly. Katherine is a credit to her Department.
I am a diabetic for over 40 years and on various medications, but for the last couple of years i was struggling to manage my blood sugar levels, even though i was taking all the medication as prescribed. Try to persuade my GP to change my medication was difficult and when they did i had a reaction to the medication/ injections. I then attempted to go to the walk in clinic at central middx hospital where the nurse Euguene was very supportive by one of the doctors who had to prescribe the medication was extremely dismissive and had no compassion or even bothered to listen to my needs.
However with the support of the Nurse Euguene, she managed to convince my GP to referrer to Northwick Park Hospital.
Dr Deore was supportive and listened to me as to the struggles i had with some of the injections that was prescribed and the side effects that i was experiencing. He reassured me that some people are have more reactions and he was happy to work through this with me.
Even though he initially prescribed me trulicity i had a reaction to this and was advised by the team how to wait and a new medication has now been prescribed Semiglutide which though has some side effects i am able to tolerate and i am happy to say that not only have i lost weight but also managed to control my blood sugar level. This was all achieved through team effort.
Staff/nurses & doctors were considerate when i reacted to trulicity injections prescribed and were supportive to take my needs into consideration and supported with me the changing the medication and followed it through till things settled down.
I am a diabetic for over 40 years and when i was struggling to maintain my sugar level i was not getting the initial support from my GP and the side effects of some of the medication were dismissed.
Fortunately i persevered and was able to get a referral to the right team who have been wonderful and helped me get back on track. Most importantly this has given the ability to carry on working.
Went to a&e for as evere asthma attack. From the security guard who saw me struggling in the queue to the nurses and doctors, everyone was polite and friendly but in a professional way. I was seen straight away and looked after very well. The a&e cubicle were clean and tidy.
I know when I go there I will be looked after very well ( better than ste Mary)
My very positive response was given because I was so happy with the clear answers and instructions of the dietician Gabriela. She gave me all the needed time to explain and talk about my problems. She makes me feel very comfortable to talk about and help to understand my complicate issues.
The dietician was articulate and clear. She came across as a nice person who seemed to want to help. We did have a nice conversation.
She did not make any decisions about me or my care. Unfortunately the appointment itself was not that useful as it was too late after my first diagnosis and therefore I had already had to do my own research and try out different things. I didn't learn very much new from the appointment.
It felt like the discussion led by the dietician was a tick box exercise, i.e. questions she had to answer and notes she had to make. The follow up notes to my GP also demonstrated this, noting that all the items listed were not actually fully discussed.
I had gone to the appointment prepared, with a list of questions, which we did get through but for the majority I did not learn anything new. It was disappointing that when i asked questions specifically related to an Asian diet she was unable to answer, considering the large population of Asians at Northwick Park Hospital and the fact that people of Asian origin are at high risk of diabetes I would expect there to be some understanding of the demographic that is being treated.
So overall though the conversation was pleasant, I did not gain much at all from it.
Having a respiratory issue during Covid, I have been absolutely amazed at the quality of care and attention I have received from all parts of the NHS - from Gemma's physio assistance, to lung function and blood tests and the attention of Dr Brown. This is at a time when they must be rushed off their feet but it never felt like that. Everybody took the time to help. I felt really cared for. Thank you.
lovely friendly appointment, told me new things and reassured me to on my treatment program. thanks
good you can choose to go online. it works well
