I was referred on Sunday 19th to the on-call Maxillofacial team by my local hospital as they did not have the relevant expertise to deal with my injuries. The doctor was expecting me, and came over to assess me whilst I was being seen by the triage nurse. At the time he gave me as estimate of when he would be finished with his current patient and when he would see me. When he did treat me, he took time to explain the nature of my injuries, what the treatment would be, and answer any questions that my wife and I had. When I left A&E I felt that the standard of care was excellent, and I had been treated by a team of skilled and dedicated staff.
