All the staff were great when I was having my first baby apart from one female consultant who had no bedside manner and was determined to induce me the next morning and couldn't give me a reason why. Luckily we asked for a second opinion and I went into labour naturally the next day and had a healthy baby girl.
my 90 year old Dad was treated on Holcot Ward - all the staff were very kind and attentive to him. We did feel that we didn't receive much information about his treatment though.
Great delivery and friendly.
Very considerate.
Kind and attentive.
Midwifes could check up on patients more without having to be called on a consistent basis.
Having received outstanding care at my local hospital I was blue lighted to Northampton hospital with a suspected stroke. My local hospital called ahead to have them on stand by.
All went wrong when I arrived at Northampton Hospital. I was basically shoved in a bay and my family believe they just left me. A lady from the stroke team came as the ambulance bought me in but then said she has got the wrong patient and would be back in a few minutes but never saw her again. My bloods were taken after about 2 1/2 hours and then my Mum had to keep chasing for someone to see me. I wasn’t told anything about what was going on. Others patients were being seen to
And the man in the next bay dropped
On the floor. It was an absolute nightmare and the lack of care appalling. The bay was filthy with dried blood. I was offered no drink and had to keep asking for pain relief and was eventually offered morphine.
I arrived at Northampton General Hospital 17.12.2017 distressed and in severe pain,
reception took details from my husband whilst Emma Rutter promptly took me
through to a private room and treated me sympathetically, organised X-ray
which I had when arriving at department, in chair organised by Emma. I can
only apologise for not knowing all staff names, a big thank you to you all.
My first time as a patient, I have experienced the hospital via my husband
being treated, we both have been exceptionally pleased every time.
We wish you all a very happy Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Outstanding care as always! All staff very friendly and helpful, they made sure we were always informed and updated on the procedures needing to happen. Every area we attended was very clean and tidy and we were made comfortable in every possible situation.
Code 0227.
On 22 November we attended at the Day Surgery Unit with our son Leo for removal of eight teeth.
The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and the check in procedure was quick and simple. We were seen on time and everything was explained to us. The staff were most professional and kind. The operation went well. Everywhere was very clean.
It was nice of the staff to give our little lad a teddy bear as a reward.
Minor point - the leaflet could have mentioned about car parking and collection arrangements and perhaps included a copy of the guide for patients and visitors to Northampton General.
I understand that the target time for radiotherapy following breast cancer surgery is 31 days.
My appointment has been made 64 days after breast cancer surgery
Very worried about this
My father has been in NGH for 9 days now - sent home ill from NGH - back in an ambulance next day. He has been passed from ward to ward - no continuity at all.
He has been vomiting with no bowel movements all this time - not seen by a doctor all weekend. Cannot eat now for 9 days - 85 years old.
Latest plan today was for a CT - cancelled due to a "communication breakdown"
Tried contacting the Matron - no one knew how to get hold of her. No ward Sister available. PALS office had just an answer phone.
This care is appalling - bordering on negligent and I will certainly be making a formal complaint.
Not much pretty good.
