I recently tripped on some uneven paving and fell heavily, damaging four front teeth and badly cutting my top lip. I went to A & E at Northampton General Hospital where the duty doctor assessed the damage and decided a Maxillofacial surgeon was needed to stitch my lip together. At all times the staff were helpful and kind, keeping me informed of progress and waiting time. I cannot praise them highly enough. A little while later Mr Elshazly arrived and looked at my lip. He concluded it required quite a few stitches to enable it to heal with minimum damage. He was so calm and reassuring, explaining in a matter-of-fact manner to myself and the duty doctor what needed to be done and then giving a detailed description of his progress in making tiny, precise stitches to pull the wound together.
