Nursing care is excellent.
But a bit too much emphasis on form filling and red tape before being seen quite stressful.
Waiting and worrying.
Otherwise excellent service.
Once I was seen by the palliative nurse I wouldn't fault the care she gave me. She was sympathetic, compassionate and kind, and treated me as an individual person.
I really felt that making me feel better mattered to her.
She got me onto the right meds to ease my symptoms.
My only negative would be that I would have liked to have seen someone sooner.
The ward nurses said they had asked but it took 2-3 days.
(possibly because it was the weekend?).
We have had wonderful care for our mother, with myself in America and my brother in Scotland, communication between all parties is key. The only thing we can't control is the time of passing. We know you will be with us until the end. Thank you.
A daily visit.
Jo and her team were everything that is excellent about the NHS. We were treated with great kindness, sympathy and understanding during an extremely difficult time for us, as a family. Everything was explained with total clarity and false promises made. Jo always had time to talk and a "shoulder" was always available. Please treasure Jo and her team, a lot of people within the NHS could learn a lot from Jo.
The palliative care team were great. Earlier referral would have been good.
