I would like to provide my feedback on Alex from Mount Vernon (Physiotherapy Gym). He is an excellent asset to the physiotherapy department at Mount Vernon. Always approachable and very patient with his clients. Very understanding and does the best required to help patients progress! Highly recommend Alex and his team.

I was referred by my GP with a 'cyst' on my face at the end of March and after a minor op at Mount Vernon Hospital, received an appointment for the results and the 'cyst' was found to be a merkel cell carcinoma. This shocking news was broken to me by a very sympathetic Mr Walid Sabbagh and his Registrar. It was explained to me that this was a very rare cancer and a further operation was necessary to be done at the Royal Free Hospital. I expressed great concern that it may have spread so Mr Sabbagh arranged a Pet Scan for me and consulted with the Oncologist as to the way forward. He explained what would happen next and I was most grateful for his prompt actions on my behalf and sympathetic treatment. I had the operation on 19th May at the Royal Free Hospital and after scans and a consultation to explain what would happen, everything went very well and I came home that evening. The surgical staff even waited as I had been delayed by a fault in one of the scanners. Every member of the hospital staff from nurses to consultant Mr Mo Akhavani and the surgical team were very helpful friendly and professional answering any questions I had. I have today been discharged from Mount Vernon Hospital by plastic surgery consultant Mr Marsh and feel very grateful indeed that I am being followed up every three months to check on my future health. My face is recovering extremely well and will improve still more in the future. I think just over 3 months from start to present day is quite amazing and wish to thank everyone concerned in my care. I cannot make any suggestions as to how this could be improved and my comments above are a shortened version of the efforts that went into my care and surgery. Rosemary Hanscomb

The staff at Mt. Vernon seemed to work well as a team. They were ready to be helpful and very good about remaining to protect a person's privacy and listen to any worries and to get you what you needed. They are a good model of personalized care.
