I would like to share my experience of being treated at Mount Vernon Hospital cancer centre in 2022 under the care of Dr Roberto Alonzi, oncologist for prostate cancer.this treatment included admission to ward 10,Mount Vernon Hospital for Brachytherapy on 31/08/22.This treatment resulted in a permanent damage to my urethra with frequent episodes of retention of urine afterwards. The Brachytherapy procedure was carried out by a couple of nurses and I was able to feel the nurse passing the Brachytherapy metal rods through my prostate and urethra which was quite barbaric as I was fully awake and the general anaesthesia has warned off.Dr Alonzi was quite dismissive of the Brachytherapy complications and has declined to see me face to face in his clinic, and advised me to attend the local urology clinic who are not aware of the details of what went on during the Brachytherapy treatment which took place in a different hospital. I would like to know why Dr Alonzi is not willing to take responsibility for the careless treatment that I received under his care, which resulted in permanent damage to my urethra which is quite incapacitating for me,and has resulted in the loss of my job and my livelihood ?
