I visited the Hospital in September 2017, I was originally booked in to the Glaucoma Clinic but this appointment was cancelled by the Hospital and was re-arranged for the Neuro Clinic. My appointment was for 09.00 I was seen about 9.20 I was the first patient of the day. I was introduced to my consultant a gentleman called Axel who carried out some very basic test using a eye chart and a colour blindness test. He used a very small torch to look in to my eye although the room was fitted with the latest technology (machine) for examining the eyes, which was pointed out to me by one of the two students in the room.He was also very honest and said he could see nothing with the torch my consultant was using. My consultant told me he could see nothing wrong but I would be sent to to have the back of my eyes scanned. He said he did not think he would need to see my again, But he would be writing to the DVLA to notify them of my condition and they will arrange to have my eyes re-tested by someone appointed by the DVLA to see if I can keep my driving licence or have my driving licence suspended or completely revoked. This did confuse me a bit as I thought he said he could see nothing wrong? I was referred to the Hospital by the Diabetic Eye Screening Team at my local hospital via my GP, After both they and my opticians raised concerns about my eyes, I wish the two students who were with Axel every success in the their future careers.

Should have had this done a long time ago. All very professional and helpful. Information given to all aspects. My job as a golf professional means that my sight is so very important , this has made all the difference to my job and life itself. This is the best thing I have ever done regrading my health. Julian Stevens was fantastic, helpful and very professional.

I have naturally reduced vision and the iCl implants give me better vision than both glasses and contact lenses, My vision is the best it has ever been and I can't thank Mr Stevens enough, this has been life changing. During the procedures I never felt a thing and they were done under LA. My vision is much better than when I wore glasses and contact lenses and I would recommend Mr Stevens to anyone who is thinking about having ICL implants.

The ward wasn't particularly clean. The surgery was excellent with no pain or discomfort at all. Mr Julian Stevens was great and my vision is excellent.

Mr Julian Stevens treated me and now I have great vision. All the staff and the care I received has been excellent. Highly recommended. I would not go to any other surgeon or any other hospital.

Really great hospital with plenty of top quality equipment meant that i was able to be tested for everything i needed straight away and with little wait, where as in my previous hospital what would have literally taken 2 months took only a couple of hours, GREAT HOSPITAL!

I absolutely agree with the last post in June 2017. I waited in total nearly 4 hours to be seen by 3 Drs (2 of which who were completely out of their depth and seemingly untrained in the basics of healthcare in UK) No intro /no name badges .. Has no one at the hospital heard about the late Kate Granger's campaign 'hello my name is' ? One female doctor ventured her own completely erroneous diagnosis whilst the other doctors were out of the room which was very unprofessional and could have seriously derailed a less seasoned patient. When a serious eye condition was diagnosed by accident whilst looking for the original problem the doctors were talking to each other only and seemingly not one second to explain to me! I was having to ask 'how bad it was' etc whilst they were walking away! Terrible really and if I hadn't got the Internet I would be completely upset this morning ( have managed to clarify the diagnosis on the web) the experienced dr looked rushed and unsettled and felt like even after waiting 4 hours I should just get moving without any real information. I was Just recommended to attend other hospital clinics as if they didn't have time for me. Extremely dispiriting experience all round.

From my experience of Moorfields the only good thing that I can say about the Hospital service is the nurses, who are caring. On the other hand the rest has a long way to go before making a stride in being a satisfied place for patients such as not enough experienced doctors around therefore patients with serious conditions having check-ups by inexperienced doctors, having to wait a very long time when you go in for appointments (2-3 hours), Neglecting patient’s treatment until it gets really worse and last of all the worst thing about the Hospital is some doctors are very disrespectful and hardly give you enough time at your appointment or discuss your condition therefore I believe there should be an anonymous questionnaire on the Hospital system for all doctors working at Moorfields given to the patient following their appointments reflecting on the service they received by the doctor who they had their check up with. If one of the doctors receives more than five poor feedbacks he/she should be under review. I strongly believe this would improve the service significantly and make Moorfields a better place.

Having used both Moorfields in the City and Moorfields at St Georges in Tooting, I can say they are polar opposites. The one at St Georges is excellent; the staff I encountered were decisive and thorough, which inspires confidence. Unfortunately the opposite is true of the City branch were I waited over a year for a brain scan (which i eventually had at St Georges) that showed a brain tumour. In addition, a member of staff "harvested" my data in a breach of the DPA by taking my number covertly when i specifically said i did not wish to provide my data. I made a complaint but never received a formal response despite being told it would be investigated. My advice - go to the one at St Georges.
