went to A&E with chest pain and difficulty breathing was told it was muscle strain and sent home told to take Paracetamol. Went to another hospital next day and found to have a collapsed lung and was admitted urgently for treatment. Made a complaint to the manor and was told it would be investigated and I would be informed of the outcome. After mailing them a few times I still have had no reply It has been three months now since I made my complaint.

I was admitted three times by ambulance, with a brilliant support and care shown by the Paramedics. The A&E although very busy was a welcoming sight as the Doctors checked me thoroughly and discussed their findings. On my third visit I was seen by Miss Addison who suggested surgery as I had pancreatitis and needed operation to remove my gaul bladder by key hole surgery. The only way I could suggest improvements would be to have additional nursing staff / doctors as it was quite obvious that all staff were working under tremendous pressure and were under staffed. Having said that the staff were very professional and did a great job whilst I was there for all patients admitted through A&E. My surgeon Miss Addison was fantastic and a top professional. I have already put on comments earlier but will repeat them in case they haven't been recorded. Miss Addison is a very professional, caring and polite young lady. Her bedside manner is excellent, and she puts you at ease in the way she discusses the findings of blood tests, scans etc. and what is necessary going forward to sort out the problem. In my case I was admitted to the Manor Hospital three times with severe stomach pains. The third time I was admitted Miss Addison came to see me and said I have Pancreatitis caused by debris. This had cause inflammation of my pancreas and infection to my gaul bladder. She said she would operate to remove my gaul bladder by way of key hole surgery. She discussed everything I needed to know about the operation, and that providing there were no emergencies the following day which was a Monday, she would operate and it would take between one and two hours. She came to see me late Monday and apologised that they had to cancel my operation due to emergencies but it would be again planned for the following day. On the Tuesday once again Miss Addison came to see me late afternoon / early evening and once again apologised for the cancellation due to emergencies. She stated very sincerely that my operation would go ahead on the Wednesday even if she has to work until midnight. My operation went ahead on the Wednesday early afternoon as promised by Miss Addison. The operation was a success and I was discharged the following day. I was told I would have a follow up meeting with Miss Addison which I did 6 weeks later to discuss the operation. Everything was ok after the operation and the pancreas was now clear. Miss Addison is a first class surgeon and a truly lovely young lady who does a wonderful job. Anyone who is due an operation to be carried out by Miss Addison and her team, you will be in first class hands.

I am now 13 days into a stay at the Manor on the children's ward with my son. He caught pneumonia in December and was readmitted 13 days ago and was seriously ill. It has been a very scary time for us not knowing if he would get through it. Yet through all through this time I cannot fault the level of care he has received from all the staff on Ward 21. The doctors have worked tirelessly to get him well often staying well beyond their shift. Answering so many of my questions with kindness and patience. The nurses are some of the most dedicated I have ever experienced, my son has complex needs and Yes there are issues, not enough staff at times, lack of supplies etc but this is all down to the financial burden laid upon them from our current uncaring government. Still these frustrations never extended to my child or myself. We always have been treated with the upmost respect and compassion.

A&E was very, very busy but they looked after me with dignaty and care, I was having an acute coronary event. Ward 7 staff where a little more reservered but I would still mark them a solid 5, unfortunately the Consultant cardiologist Jaumdally is not up to the task and I can understand how the department can get a bad name.

The staff (reception) at the urgent care unit couldn't be less bothered with the patients. The lady was not friendly and was rude too. Totally under the expectation and not fulfilling on the promise of "welcomed" at all. Date: 07/01/2017 Location: Walsall Urgent Care Unit (Manor Hospital).

Weekend service were very good, caring and trustworthy, always willing to interact with me, and come and help me. So thank you to them. Monday staff, we're different, while in bed in morning, I heard one nurse say, what about him(referring to help me out of bed, and get ready for breakfast) other nurse replied, 'leave him, his going home today' after this I was ignored. Until student nurses helped me, and asked how I was, (so very thankful to the students).

Review of Ward 25 written by a patient

My experience was very good the staff were very committed and passionate and very eager and happy to help with anything. I felt very sorry for the staff though as almost all staff I spoke to seemed very disheartened due to lack of staff and what was expected of them. The majority of the time I was there there was one midwife to care and attend to ten mothers and their babies, this is quite a big ask as a lot of mothers are recovering from c sections making then unable to get about. I am glad I delivered my baby at this maternity ward, and this was my second experience here,I just think that the morale of the staff would be much higher if staffing issues are sorted out so they aren't running round like headless chickens.
