Everyone in PAU and childrens clinic have always been very kind and thoughtful.
Although some of the toys do not work in both these depts adn my 2 yr old gets very disappointed. It would be nice to be able to use a toy that works and get the batterys changed once in a while.
I have attended the manor hospital several times over the last couple of months. In most cases I have been well treated and would have given much higher results. However on one occaision I was very unhappy with the way I was treated. After sitting waiting for forty minutes I went to ask how much longer I would be only to be told that my folder with all my information had been lost and they were waiting for some test iresults to be sent over. After another half an hour of watching everyone else getting seen by the doctor, I checked again. This time she seemed suprised I hadn't been seen as the letter had arrived and she went to speak to a nurse. It felt like I had been forgotten. In the end I waited one and a half hours for an appointment that took five minutes. Firstly, they should have realised my notes were missing first thing in the morning when they set up the trolley and could have sorted it out before I got there. Secondly no one bothered to talk to me about what was happening they just left me waiting. Thirdly no one took charge of my situation, making sure that I was dealt with. I feel that if I hadn't kept chasing it up I would have been there a lot longer. I don't mind waiting if the Doctor is busy seeing someone who needs their help but to wait so long for a clerical error is very frustrating.
The new part of the hospital in particular is very clean and efficiently ran,
the new block is the best well put togetter, the nurses we friendly and efficient
We can not fault the care we recieved while we were in the Paediatric Unit.
A good new build seems good so far
I found The Manor much more efficient then our local hospital.
We ahve always been treated well by the staff at The Manor. They have always got time for the children, and are caring and courteous. It is difficult in a busy Paediatrics Area, but they always manage a smile and a joke with the children. They go about their tasks in a professional manner.
The hospital was clearly signposted both outside and inside. It was very spacious in the main reception area with noticeboards and signs upon entrance. Staff were also available to help direct us. The entrance reminded me a little of an airport waiting area with the shops and notice boards but much much cleaner!
The new Family Health and Diagnostics Centre is fantastic - a lovely building. All of the staff at the hospital are fantastic and I was dealt with efficiently and respectfully. There is only one small gripe - the lifts are really slow - they seem to take forever to arrive and to get you to the floor you want - which is a bit annoying because having a pushchair with me I have no choice but to use them. One of them was out of order on my last visit a couple of days ago which made the situation worse. Apart from the lifts - a big thumbs up to the new Manor Hospital!
