The hospital app has made appointments and communication much easier
Felt well looked after here. Didnt come across any upsets during my stay.
I had Whipple surgery which is a major operation and spent longer in Intensive care than was expected The treatment I received, the doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing. As it was during Covid it seemed even more important that they were so kind and amazing
Nhs nursing, drs, support workers few, over stretched and under staffed.
Sedexo services poor, inadequate, non communication,
Services provided by sedexo in my experience ward 8 MRI.
Cleaning: Poor, open to cross contamination, filthy floors, patient areas, shared showers and toilets.
Food: inadequate, often cold, no variance in special menu, no options available for special diets.
Ward maintenance: no response to power outage on ward 4 beds failed and deflated mattresses fir elderly patients bedbound for over 24 hours. Drips powered by extention cables. Tvs no power. Lighting poor. Blinds broken. Windows leaking.
Draughty as broken locks on windows and gaping holes.
Laundry: insufficient sheets, gowns, towels and blankets. Often 4 hours late so elderly patients lay in wet bedding and clothes. Often end of shift before washed and changed as not enough laundry or arrived too late.
Sedexo need bringing to account.
Covid now on ward. My mother has been moved to isolation through contracting in last 24hours ... no strict government policy or recognition to inform or restrict access other patients and visitors and visiting staff on ward
Observations and checks are carried out regularly.
Family are contacted when there is some difficulty with communication with my mother.
The hospital could improve in their communication with internal departments as I feel there were times information was not shared.
Messages from family have been left with staff for the doctors are not relayed.
I have just wrote about the care of the hospital but what I want to say all the toilets and kitchen areas on floor 1 are appalling to say they are near C rucial Care Unit / Heart care Unit they really do need cleaning several times a day. I know you are short of staff but this needs to be thought about we have mentioned it several times to different cleaners but nothing gets done. If I find that this does not get resolved I will go to public health
Excellent care . Should have only 1 Dr talking to you as all the Drs were telling us different things and when your son is critical it is scary without been told different things and upsetting. I no they are busy but would rather be told the truth.
Probably one of the worst hospitals in the country, if not the world. Arrived in A&E yesterday at around 11am and now it is 3:35 am the next day and I am still here. GP send me here to do brain scan due to suspected mini stroke, they have failed to do this single task in the whole day and now it is morning. Instead of emergency department they ought to change the named pregnancy department because it feel like I have lived in this hell for months and there is no outcome in sight. Terrible service NHS sucks.
I felt well looked after during my short stay.
Great surgical team
