I underwent treatment and the removal of a sarcoma in my left arm last march at LGI. This was the start of the lockdown and while the rest of the country was in panic mode the team at LGI were right on track. ON the day of my operation the ward i was due to be on was quickly swapped to another ward to free up space for a covid-19 wing, however this was quickly overcome by the staff and they were fantastic throughout. i spent 3 nights in hospital after the operation and was almost emotional to leave as i didnt get chance to show my appreciation properly. I can honestly say that every single member of staff i met along the way were allla big help to me and incredibly caring and professional, from the ladies serving the meals and having a friendly joke, the anesthetist making me laught while i nervously prepared for my operation but mainly the surgical team that worked with Mr Bains each is an asset to the NHS.
