I found all the staff professional and kind. Wendy, my allocated nurse made me feel safe and relaxed and explained everything that was happening.
From the day staff to the surgical staff all were helpful polite and professional.
I recently underwent surgery in the cardiothoracic department at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre (attached to Blackpool Victoria Hospital). The attention I was given prior to surgery was excellent and the aftercare I received in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Lancashire Suite (Ward39) was brilliant. All the staff, without exception, were mindful of my condition and needs and were excellent in the administration/execution of their care and duties. The staff were all friendly and we're helpful during every stage of my predischarge recovery.
I have received follow up telephone calls since discharge which is very reassuring.
THANK YOU.
I have just been discharged after a triple bypass operation. This was the first time I have had to go into hospital for surgery. The facilities were excellent and both the Cardiac ITC and Lancashire Suite medical teams were excellent providing highly professional and a caring service. I have not hesitation in strongly recommending that's facilities and teams should you suffer from Cardiac Issues. The fact that I was discharged home within a week after this major surgery is a testament to the quality of the service provided and the dedication of the teams. Well done! Excellent service delivered by a highly professional team at all levels.
Upbeat, happy friendly ward staff. Helpful and willing to go the extra mile. More staff would be better, as very busy ward, but the staff worked like soldiers. Good positive attitude by all staff from ward sisters to housekeeper and domestics. Distinct lack of ward managers seemed to make no difference to smooth running. Issues were fully explained and problems resolved without fuss. Good, good team.
