I am writing on behalf of my mother who has dementia. From what I saw when visiting her she was well cared for. All staff, nurses and doctors communicated with me.
The staff were kind, friendly and kept me informed all times.
I was triaged quickly, the wait time was 5 hours . I was taken to sdec clover ward. Where my treatment was continued. I was not offered any food or drink the whole time I was there. I went to Costa in the end and missed being called when it was my turn. I was given a follow up appointment to return to clover ward in a week. The wait that time was minimal and I was delt with efficiency.
Because i got good treatment in urgent care
I am a JAK2-positive PV patient and recently experienced severe bone pain in both of my legs. The out-of-hours GP referred me urgently for X-rays, but I was left waiting in the waiting area for 10 hours despite being in severe pain.
There were no other medical issues involved that required prolonged observation, so I do not understand why I had to wait that long while suffering significant pain and discomfort. Sitting for such a long period actually made the pain worse.
I feel the situation was handled poorly and lacked compassion for a patient already dealing with a serious blood condition and severe symptoms.
I have anxiety therapy due to wrong diagnosis and treatment over the last 19 years. Which has left me with a chronic Nerve pain condition.
After another bad fall the way I was treated by King George's gave me more confidence in attending hospital to get checked for further injuries at the time they occurred.
Many thanks
Susan
