Review of Outpatients Department, written by a patient
27th July 2020

Gastroenterology at King Georges could not answer the phone. Switchboard operators put me through to a completley different department to get rid of me. The other department cut me off instead of referring me back to the switchboard. All because my blood test appointment was deleted without my notification. At the Chadwell Heath Health Centre.

Review of Rheumatology Outpatients, written by a patient
23rd July 2020

The nurses and admin staff for this clinic are very professional and provide exceptional care and support. My one concern is with the actual consultant that I saw Dr S Navaratnam, I find that he has little, or no knowledge or experience with the APS conditon that I have been diagnosed with. Every time I ask questions he referes me to leaflets or suggests I buy publications by other doctors or check online. He is also keen for me to a drug to help the symptoms of this condition (Im not sure I have any symptoms) when I ask about symptoms he refers me back to the leaflets and so the neverending cyle begins. I always feel that I am wasting his time, especially when I say no to the drugs offered. Is there a consultant that has more knowledge on the team? Maybe the team needs someone with more knowlege and understanding.

Review of Cardiology, written by a carer
22nd July 2020

I have come today as part of my job to assist a gentleman with his appointment, we came by ambulance transfer. The appointment was very quick, I then waited over an hour for transport to arrive to collect us. I approached the desk and was told it can take up to an hour. I sat back down, only now the gentleman was getting vet agitated and was trying to stand up. Only he cannot walk and has dementia. I approached the desk again after 2 and a half hours waiting only to be told it hasn’t even been booked yet. I’m absolutely disgusted with this service. Would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

I think it depends what treatment you are going for. I have quite a few:- Endocrinology - they are excellent in every manner excellent clinic. Rheumatology - absolutely rubbish. They have cancelled every appointment with them for 18 months. So yes my condition is getting worst and they don't care. Oh yes some of the specialist nurses are absolutely rude. I need to change my consultant. Chest and Heart clinics also excellent. X-ray department as a whole also excellent.

I have been to nuclear medicine several times in the past few years the staff. Mrs Confill, Mrs Ali and Mr. Edgar are helpful, professional and kind to a nervous patient. They are a credit to the hospital and BHRUT.
