Review of King George’s - Accident & Emergency
21st October 2023

Things were done to me, but no explanation as to why, and no results given for nearly 6 hours after. We were in a corridor, and people rarely came by to see if we were alright. We were offered not refreshments in more than 6 hours. The drip would have run through if I hadn’t turned it off.

Suggested improvements
In the discharge lounge the toilets were not big enough to accommodate an adult wheelchair, it used to be a paediatric ward. The lights were not working in both toilets we tried. The nursed was using the torch on her mobile phone, and I had to hold the door open a little from the outside to give them light. When the booked the ambulance they didn’t identify that she was a wheelchair user who was unable to stand. So she had to be transferred to a seat by 2 ambulance crew.

Barely saw A doctor on heather ward and had to wait a further 7 hours after him saying I was to be discharged to actually be discharged. When I was in mru the lead nurse refused to give me my nutrition feed through my peg at night even though she had asked him to bring it in! Even nurses on heather ward were shocked at this. I have MND and it is vital medication

Suggested improvements
Given me my meds on time. Discharge should be much quicker

Review of Chest Clinic
20th October 2023

Every member of staff were brilliant. Gave me all the time I needed and did not rush me. Explained things properly to me. Gave me a chance to ask questions. They showed a genuine interest in what I had to say. The experience of visiting the clinic was a positive one and turned out better than I thought it would. It was also great to meet members of the Covid team, which I think was quite important as I’ve been talking to them closely over a period of time.

Suggested improvements
Nothing! Everyone was very attentive.

Review of King George’s - Accident & Emergency

While being admitted to king George hospital, it took 50 hours in order for me to be transferred to queens. . During that time. I was in a lot of pain.

Suggested improvements
Was not picked up by an ambulance due to my accident was driven to king George as I approached A&E was told to wait in line when I had my wrist broken and finger broken was not seen straight away was in a lot of pain. My hand and finger were manipulated. Then I waited for several hours until I received any painkillers. I was then told they cannot do the operation and would need to be sent to queens hospital, which was going to be a 4 hour. Wait with an ambulance but instead had to wait all night in pain until I was transferred. Instead, I was transferred by a family member in the morning.
