I am a diabetic and had to sit here for 16 hours before someone even looked at my wound, not one person could give me a straight answer as to what is going on. Instead i was faced with disrespect and attitude.

Suggested improvements
Communicate better with your patients, at least pretend to care and not show attitutude or disrespect when a patient is enquiring ligitimate requests.

The doctor was very good but the staff did not act on her instructions when asked to so some of my treatment was delayed.

Suggested improvements
General communication could be greatly improved. Patients are left sitting in the waiting room for hours on end with no information and this creates a lot of stress. There were people in the waiting room with me who had been there for 16 hours! They had waited all through the night! My total time at the hospital was 11 hours which was too long too. The investigation into my condition could have been carried out in half that time. There were plenty of nursing and auxiliary staff but it seems there was a shortage of doctors.

Appalling ammount of time to wait. I have Asthma and Bronchiectasis and was there because I was diagnosed on holiday in Turkey with Pneumonia. I informed staff of my illness but was told I had to wait because other people had to be seen. I understand that but one of the patients was laughing about her foot which was the reason for her being there. Was not happy about a failing service.

Well, I think ammediately on arrival, it would be nice to be asked why you are there. Breathing problems, bleeding, stomach pains, sprained ankle, stubbed toe and other stupid reasons for turning up and putting ridiculous amounts of unnecessary strain on the NHS. That way they can be put on immediate priority or sent away to see their Gp. I felt very left alone when I was extremely worried about my breathing.

Not been to King georges a&e that often but more attendance recently after developing a long term disease. Anytime I have been there I've always felt looked after.and that staff hadnt forgotten about me while I waited for procedures to be completed. They consistently demonstrate their wealth of experience managing emergencies and ensure you understand why tests are being done and how they relate to your symptoms. They are a team to be proud of.

The only thing I can say about this time was that the person who booked me in seemed a little unsure of what she was doing on the system and lacked a little confidence in gaining the information she needed from me. I was a little concerned that this might not be recorded correctly. Maybe she is new and just needs some further supervision and training.

Triage nurse was very condescending and made me feel very uncomfortable during the initial assessment. He took me through to resus without being told where I was going, told my relative to wait in a waiting room, again with now explanation. I was left in a cubicle in resus with no pillow for 5 hours even though a nurse said that she would get me one. No communication or reassurance from the nurses whatsoever and they wasn’t in least bit kind or caring like nurses should be. I asked several times if my relative could be updated on my condition, yet this didn’t happen. My mum had to walk around the department asking several members of staff where I was and if I was ok before being told to knock on the resus door and ask them.

Suggested improvements
Training for nurses on how to be caring and compassionate to patients.
