All the staff in my two day stay were so lovely, smiling, helpful, kind, and nothing was too much trouble for them. I feel like I made friends with them in that short time.
Could not have been better - and I mean that for all of them.
The staff nurse Mary in Heather ward was racist she was rude towards me and all the patients she also ignored me when I was reporting my lung pains and ignored me when I asked for something for my acid reflux I had to take to the trainer nurse to relay my communication to the staff nurse
The doctor on the MAU ward Dr Joe was condescending and impatient with incorrect referral and indecisive next steps
The bell is ignored at times leaving me to neatly wet my bed
A patient who had mental health problems was left in A&E side room in front of me and others in the recliners while awaiting the assessment unit was left to wet herself on a chair all over the floor after she asked several times for. Commode - she did ask why didn’t you bring me one then the floor was mopped cleaned no attention was paid to the lady to change her wet cloths
My lumber puncture failed which left me with nerve pain in my head and severe lower back pain
My call for an MRI was ignored until a neurologist recommended it
A mental health patient spoke continuously to herself shouting all night on my ward last night kept all five of us awake she should have been in a side room
There’s never ever any feedback unless you ask
The MAU ward was very organised but not Heather Ward where the toilets were left disgusting and are not cleaned in the day at all….
The cleaners with a duster and mop come around your bed knocks it hard while I’m sleeping waking me up no Jo apology and raising my bed without asking me to mop underneath or telling me what she is doing not treating me with dignity at all.
The nurses were lovely & were quite helpful, as much as they could be,
All tests and consultation done within three hours or arrival this was really remarkable, but after that it took additional three hours to give me results . All in ill I spent 7 hours .
So need clarity on period of time it takes for the tests results to come back .
I came to A&A with 4 problems, they solve only one,and kick me out with blood pressure 172/104, i was feeling dizzy, but no one doctor care
I been there with acute appendix pain at 6 am and they gave green card waited until 9am before I seen by a doctor only than he decided to gave me red card and sent me to emergency b for another 7h for all test result and saying me I don't need any operation . In total 10h waiting in that condition sitting in a chair. Is that a normal for the management!
They could see how much pain and discomfort I was in and saw to my needs straightaway and involved me in all decisions
I arrived at the Urgent Care Centre at 6 pm on the 3rd of June after being told to come there by 111.
I was marked urgent but wasn’t seen until 2.30am. The department was very busy. When I was seen I was treated as Urgent and the doctor was very good. I was passed onto Accident and Emergency where I was treated speedily. All staff both nurses and doctors were excellent when I reached them.
Everyone from the ambulance staff and paramedic who brought me to the hospital to Dr Firanol Aguma who treated me, were calm, courteous and informative.
I was meant to be taking for CT Scan around 19:00HR on 29/05/2023 while on A&E admission. The staff that attended to me removed my drips in preparation to go, I asked her if I could use gents quickly, she answered yes. Before I left she took the drip and the trawley away and never came back. I could not complete my doses, not knowing she was in a hurry to close for the day. I was waiting and she was no where to be found. Reported this to the nurse in charge, who came to my rescue. Very unprofessional behaviour.
