Share review of King George Hospital
I would like to express my deep dissatisfaction with the care I received at King George Hospital.
I arrived at the emergency room by ambulance at 3:00 PM on the 19th of this month and was only seen the following day, around 9:00 AM. During all this time, no one gave me clear information about the delay. When I questioned the situation, they only told me that my name "was not in the system," implying that they hadn't even properly verified my presence. They had already drawn my blood around 3:20 PM. If this happened to me, who was brought in by ambulance, I can only imagine what happens to people who arrive on their own.
In addition, the service at reception was very poor. Some employees did not show empathy or appropriate ways to speak to patients, especially considering that we are there in moments of fragility and concern.
The doctor who treated me also had an unprofessional attitude. He spoke about my results practically in the middle of other people, when this type of information should be treated with privacy and respect, in an appropriate room. I felt that my dignity and confidentiality were not respected, and I even wondered if, because I don't speak English, that's why I'm being treated that way.
Unfortunately, this was not the first negative experience I had at that hospital. On another occasion, I was accompanied by my 14-year-old daughter, and we witnessed an argument between the doctor who was treating me and a nurse. The doctor was giving instructions, and the nurse refused to follow them, to the point that the doctor stated that he would file a complaint because his orders were not being respected. It was a very unpleasant and unprofessional situation for me and my minor daughter, who witnessed it.
In my humble opinion, King George Hospital urgently needs to improve in several aspects: organization, communication, customer service, respect for patients, and professionalism among employees. As a patient, I felt disrespected and deprived of the dignity that anyone deserves when seeking medical care.
I sincerely hope that these situations will be reviewed and that improvements will be made so that other patients do not go through the same experience.
