Share review of King George Hospital
I was treated with kindness, compassion and understanding by all the nursing staff following major, overwhelming surgery. Very experienced and reassuring. One doctor on the surgical team however, I believe to be Mahmoud Hamad, rather let the side down. He came to me pre-op to point out possible problems and outcomes. He was not wearing a name badge and, if he introduced himself, I didn’t catch it. I felt completely overwhelmed by his constant talking, he then handed me a grubby mobile phone to sign my consent. To be perfectly honest, I almost pulled out of the planned procedure. He then visited me post-op, didn’t introduce himself and didn’t have a chaperone (I was in side room 1, door closed). He clearly hadn’t informed staff he was there as it took a bit of digging to find out who he actually was which was discovered by the fact he co-signed the consent form. This was quite unacceptable and really upset me.
