I was thoroughly looked after here, the baby was monitored closely and the staff were on hand to help all the time even in the night. I felt very supported and was given lots of advice about breastfeeding. I would like to say though as I wasn't given a form to fill out about the service on maple ward that I was very disappointed with the lack of experience of staff in that ward. One midwife said she'd broken my waters only to find 48hours later and after being 8 hours on a hormone drip that she hadn't. We were also told to make a 40 minute journey after noticing brown discharge to be told when we got to hospital that it was nothing and apologosed for not talking us through on the phone and making us come in for no reason. It did make me question the decisions being made throughout my labour as I'd lost confidence in the service. Post labour I feel differently as I was impressed with the way we looked after. I also wasn't been given the opportunity to post my comments on the day unit administration staff downstairs I found them slow to acknowledge you and rather unhelpful. One receptionist inputted my appointment date in wrong on the computer causing a lot of confusion and when I went to ask for a scan appointment in the scan department I was told "you'll be lucky" before the lady then went on to moan about how busy they are. I've never felt more uncomfortable.
