I came in for a blood transfusion and was given excellent care. I would be happy to come in for a short stay again.
The care, compassion and support provided by all staff at Holme Towers is outstanding. They are all Angels in our eyes. They made our mum feel so special and in her final days and hours nothing was too much trouble. We owe so much to each and every member of staff.
My mum spent her final weeks in the hospice. They would not be able to improve on anything as everything was excellent. ALL staff were so caring and attentive to mum and to us as a family I could not have wished for a better place for her to end her days. It was a very difficult time for us but the pain was eased seeing the care that she was receiving.
My sister was cared for at this hospice both having treatment/transfusions and then for the final few weeks of her life. The staff were wonderful, especially Gill (ward manager) and staff nurse Becky. If honours are given to nurses these two ladies should have them.
The care and professional attention I received at Holme Towers was exemplary. The nurses had time to have some fun with you and nothing was too much trouble. I always thought that a hospice was somewhere to end life with dignity. That is just one aspect though - to me, what is more important is the desire to keep you alive as long as possible with fantastic palliative care - well done and keep up the good work!
The Marie Curie staff were exceptional - after some fairly horrendous experiences with the NHS they were like a breath of fresh air - it would be hard to fault them in any way. At the end of my wife's life they gave a quality of care and attention that ennabled my wife to die peacefully at home - obviously a very sad time but helped enormously by the professionalism of the 'team' at Marie Curie.
