Spent a week with Dr Sanjay and his team as an assistant psychologist as part of my placement. Great experience with his excellent team and staff as they made sure my time there was well spent and allowed me to engage in their activities whilst feeling part of a team. The hospital was very welcoming and helpful to those they work with and look after. To those who seek help they are very professional and highly recommended Hallam St Hospital.
Shocking experience it’s this hospital, every time different doctor that does not know your case, don’t know what question to ask, several times never rang. Pathetic, unhelpful, unpleasant place.
I felt unsafe and not included in support plans, one doctor kept mocking a suicide attempt and I asked to change numerous times but it never was. I wasn’t listened to and was repeatedly denied appointments despite being in crisis. I brought up side effects from medication and was told the information in my medication was wrong and it was in my head. If anything I felt worse coming out of appointments than going in. I was asked to change doctors to a specific one once I’d done that I was informed I was discharged as I was out the area. I’ve been asked if I’d like to be referred back and have avoided it since and struggled in silence.
Poor experience in this hospital. Was here for 6 weeks and no progress made. Majority of the nursing staff didn’t care. Medication for physical health was often delayed… I waited 48hrs for antibiotics. They are highly reliant on bank staff especially at night and this results in a near overdose of my medication! If I hadn’t have pointed out to the nurse the times of my one medication had changed so I’d already had it a 6pm she was adamant in trying to give it me again at 10!
I felt like i was a burden to them and they just wanted to get back to the staff room and have a cup of tea, Not the most appropriate course of action when the patient in question feels like he's being ignored by everyone anyway, They don't tell you things in laymens way they use all these complicated medical talk and unless you have been medically trained you have no idea what they're talking about, They have to understand that a patient id there because they may feel depressed or vulnerable and propose a proper care package that they understand.
