I am writing as a carer, in fact the sister of the patient. We have visited the clinic on a number of occasions. More recently the reception area has changed; it is no longer manned, no doubt as a result of cuts. On arrival you register your presence by pressing a bell. I feel this is quite an alienating experience for someone who is highly anxious as my brother is and possibly mental health patients in general may be. There is literally no one around and it wasn't possible to tell whether our arrival had been acknowledged or not. This added to my brother's stress levels. The waiting area for patients is just inside the entrance to the building so you are still sitting outside the main area with no sign of a member of staff. The area is tiny and very cramped. There is no sense of any privacy between you and other waiting patients. There has been very little attempt at making the area more patient friendly either by providing more reading material or any pictures etc. The approach to the building looked sad and neglected with litter left lying..empty plastic bottles etc. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to pick them up just to create a more positive environment. Our experience with staff members once beyond the secure doors was positive and we have no issues with the care received.

I saw the health visiting team with my son who had issues with breast feeding. After various visits and lack of weight gain it was concluded that my son had an allergy to both dairy and soya. He is now having hypoallergenic milk after seeing a specialist and has also been referred to a dietician. Without the support of the health visiting team I wouldn't have got to this point with my son. He is now putting on weight and his health is improving. I am very thankful for the support of the team.

Greenlane mental health clinic have saved me from my demons! They have supported me for the past 3 horrible years of my life. They are always there if you need them or if you have any concerns, Nicola Lawrence has been an incredible part of my recovery she has always stood by me and supported me in everything I have done. She knows how stuobborn I can be and I have no idea how she stuck around and carried on with me because if it was the other way around I would have given up a long time ago but that's why she is amazing she has the Patience which a lot of people in my life haven't had. She stuck by me even when I oushed her away and wouldn't answer my phone or not turn up for appointments, I tend to give up on people if they let me down or don't bother with me but I can honestly say Nicola has been amazing and I wouldn't be able to thank her enough! Dr.latif has also been amazing he has helped with medication and the meetings have helped but I can honestly say I am in recovery because of the pair of them. I have never been so happy or confident in myself until now. I would like to say to anyone else hi is struggling with any form of mental health that things may seem like they will never get better but I can promise you they will get better you will be able to have a real smile and move on from the past and do your dream job or have your own little family or get a partner. I used to think that I would never be able to get out of this dark space but I have it took a lot of hard work and determination and yes I have bad days but the good days have outweighed the bad ones. Keep going you can do this there are so many people around you that will help and support you and asking for help isn't a bad thing it means your such a strong person to say I'm struggling here I need a bit of help.

No one bothered to ring me to arrange an appointment due to certain staff sickness so I had to chase it up through PALS after been told to ring both Kettering and Wellingborough! Once I had an appointment, the CPN lied about being in contact with other professional staff in the system with regards to my care. I was later told by the other medical professionals that she hadn't made contact at all. How can you expect patients to trust the system and people if this happens? After my discussion with her she then proceeded to make me fill out an 'iwantgreatcare' form in front of her therefore I felt that I couldn't be honest in the survey! Perhaps better staff training in all aspects from patient dignity to telephone manner at reception. Thanks for making my life that little bit more difficult through poor patient care.
