Review of Birth Unit written by a patient
8th April 2017

The Birth Unit was very clean. The staff were brilliant and I had total trust in them. It's very modern and when I stayed in overnight I felt like I was in a five star hotel, rather than a hospital. My whole experience was far above and beyond what I had expected. Thank you, I will recommend it to other local mums to be.

Review of Delivery Suite written by a patient

I had a fantastic positive birth experience at the delivery suite despite it not being planned! The midwife looking after me all the way through to the surgical team undertaking the procedures were calm, collected, compassionate and caring. I especially want to thank Faye who was with me every step of the way, Dr Jyothinmayal the anaesthetist who did the best epidural ever, Arash (sorry spelling) who handled taking samples wonderfully, the surgeon who delivered our baby by forceps Sophia, and everyone else in the surgery that morning. Thank you so much.

Review of Birth Unit written by a patient
30th August 2016

I was highly impressed with the quality of care and facilities. From when I made initial contact via phone to say I thought I was in labour I spoke to Erica, who was very calm and reassuring on the phone and advised me of what to do and agreed it was best for me to make my way in. When I arrived I was put in a lovely suite, which helped relax me , to my suprise I had the same midwife who I spoke to on the phone, greet me and stayed throughout the birth which was great to have that continuity of care. My requests during childbirth were respected . After the birthing process I had a lovely lady called mo come in, she was just what you needed, ran me a bath and made sure I had eaten and helped me clean up. The whole experience and service was excellent and the staff I encountered went above and beyond to make you comfortable and put you at ease . A huge thank you to the team Charlotte Kibble - Henry Kibble 30/08/16

Review of Children's Inpatient
27th August 2016

My child was admitted to Goucester Royal Hospital on Wednesday, 24 August at approx 8pm she was treated quickly and effiecently and was monitored regularly. I was able to be with her 24/7. Eventually she required an operation. Both she and I were apropriately informed of the procedure and the operation went extremely well and she is now recovering at home. Thank you all who suported both my child and myself during what could of been an extremely stressful situation. Many thanks.

Review of Delivery Suite written by a patient
21st July 2016

I feel that the care I received during and after labour was exceptional. I had originally planned to give birth in Cheltenham as it is close to my home, however due to meconium in my waters to go to Gloucester (by the very helpful and reassuring staff at Cheltenham birth centre). My labour took about 12 hours, and during that time I was supported by Helen England. She was absolutely fantastic, very encouraging and helpful. She explained each thing she wanted to do (e.g. monitoring of the baby, injection to speed up the release of the placenta) and never put any pressure on me to do anything I didn't want to. I cannot stress enough how much better she made me feel about the whole process. I now really appreciate just how much work midwives are expected to do - even cleaning up the mess afterwards! The delivery room itself was great, really clean and comfortable with everything we needed. After the birth we were transferred to the ward, which again was clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. We were discharged when we were ready to leave and when we felt confident. Thank you to all involved, from both myself and baby Ethan. Amber Grace

More detailed information about medication on discharge would have been helpful - this was very rushed.

Was referred by my GP and received an appointment well within a week. Had two scans and an ECG and saw a consultant following on from these and was given results. A one stop shop virtually, great to have some fears allayed. Naturally, there was some waiting time in between each test but these waiting times were not excessive. The consultant was pleasantly matter-of fact and gave the results in an acceptable manner, with a suggestion to be made to my GP for a further check to be made. Well done NHS, it's good to be able to give praise instead of a negative response. The volunteer worker was very helpful and had I not had someone with me who knew where I had to go, I would have been grateful for his offered help in directing me to the necessary places of procedure.
