The attitude my family had towards us from labour ward nurses wasn’t 5*. I was absolutely go smacked to be honest. Saying that my niece couldn’t see her newborn sister. That was the first thing that got said to is from the nurse. Not even a hi.! Only told is 2 at a time can go in. That was fine, then as if me and my dad were a piece of poop and were like can you wait outside. We waiting for 20-25 minutes for myself and my dad to go in and see our little girl. My mum comes out and said that dad can go in but they said no more visitors. No explanation from the nurse at all! Disappointed and disgusted by their actions.

To the staff from OOH, A&E, Cleddau and very especially Merlin ward, who were responsible for my care last week, a big thank you. Old nurses are hard to impress! But you did. Professionally, personally with compassion and confidence. From hotel services to Consultant and everyone in between, you have been amazing. X

I attended A&E with severe indigestion and was diagnosed with heart issue. I was taken to the cardio ward where I was cared for and monitored until I was able to transfer to Morriston Hospital. I had open heart surgery, a double by-pass and a replacement valve. I am annually checked at Glangwili's Cardio unit and have received nothing but support and care. Most excellent Hospital.

This place is dirty, floors not cleaned, dirty treatment rooms , a lot of mentally unstable people walking in to the A&E and claiming they are physically ill when the problem with them is clearly psychiatric. Waiting times are too long , lots of trainee doctors with not much clue what they are doing. Doctors busy on weekends and evenings doing their private work while receiving NHS pay as well , bring back geriatric hospitals across Wales and build them overnight as if they were the fake covid hospitals most of which stayed empty.

I am very grateful to the staff I've seen at Glangwili. They have been extremely professional and caring, looking after me firstly in A&E and then subsequently in fracture clinic. Taking great care to monitor my leg after having triple fractures. Thank you so much!

Took my 8yr old for an appointment at fracture clinic,to be told there was a 2hr delay. We waited and waited.i asked how much longer it would be for her and only then we got sent down to x-ray ( like they had forgotten about her). Waited another 2hrs in x-ray( people coming in after her were being seen before her). She was getting very tired and unsettled. 6hrs for an appointment!!!!!! Absolutely not acceptable. The hospital is filthy. Only a few staff members were helpful, others looked like they couldn't give 2 hoots .next time we will be demanding to go to Morriston hospital. This hospital is an absolute discrace

I was in a&e in glangwili “ not of choice “ Living more toward Haver-West ,, anyway i was there and was seen by a lovely woman ever so polite and helpful in a green uniform said her name is trudie , she was short like me so was comforting kind of , Anyway she listened to me and nothing was too much hassle for her ‘ had all the masks and bits on so did i , Trudie was a nice person as i was scared due to the virus and didnt want to bother the nhs she kept me calm and after starting the day nervous scared and just upset wanting any excuse to stay away trudie ended it with a smile on my face ‘ she didnt stop bless her . Shame all were not like her ! Did notice a&e was busy and some people need to help the staff by not tirning up with such stupid injuries that could be better dealt with on a good sleep and a pain killer at home , The staff still dealt with some pointless people in a&e regardless of wasting their time ,,Credit to glangwili and nhs , Well done ,, i aint coming back tho “ no offence “

My suggestion to any stroke patients would be: "Wear a Bodycam", (£30 from Amazon/Argos). I was a patient at the "Acute Stroke Ward "Gwenllian", I had just had a stroke, and didn't know if I would ever work again. I was yelled at (twice) mocked and belittled, I left an emotional wreck, and am still feeling the consequences. Incredibly three external investigations were thwarted as, the two nurses in question "could not be identified", this despite each having vey distinctive appearances, and there being only about 10 female nursing staff on duty at the time. If I would have worn a bodycam these nurses would be identified, and probably would have behaved in a professional manner. I must say, one of the nursing staff was professional and polite. All the non nursing staff, physios, OTs, doctors etc, were professional and polite. The delinquent behaviour of the nursing staff on Gwenllian, was in marked contrast to the staff behaviour I experienced in other sections of the NHS. I feel that stroke patients, are generally considered as "cognitively impaired" therefore can be bullied with impunity. Trials have shown that staff and patients behave better, in the presence of bodycams. Introducing them, as a matter of course to all staff, at least, would greatly reduce the, frequency of abuse. and hence the emotional and physical damage for patients. Not to mention the many many hours spent by hospital staff, in dealing with patient complaints. I know there would be some privacy issues, but I understand many NHS staff already wear bodycams.

I eventually discharged myself having been in A&E for 6 with the prospect of another 2 hhour wait. It was making me feel worse. All I was told was my bloodpressure was low and was puton a drip. After a while I was told I was blocking the unit and shouldgo back to the waiting area. There was no possibility to get a drink, Ii was yold I would have to wait until I had seen the doctor, oh and the vending machine wasn't working. On a very hot day withnothing to drink, no wonder I was feeling worse.. eventually I went to discharge myself and the canula was removed in the waiting area. My husband tells me this is nirmal practice as it happened to a friend of his when he was sent home with the canula still in his arm and had to be taken back in the middle of the night, long round trip. I did not see anyone cleaning inside or out all the time I was there. I suggest a bit more managenent by walking about could improve things.
