I spent a day and night on ward 4 during and after an Ablation op 30th january 24 The staff, nurses and auxiliary's on this ward were exemplary, the professionalism, kindness and care was second to none, I wish I could list all of their names.
My surgeon Dr/Mr Kay and his anesthetic team were the dream definitely the team to have looking after me, so impressed. My porter, the nurses in after care were also outstanding and looked after me wonderfully. All of the staff here made an unpleasant situation very bearable, gold star from me.

27 November 2021 - I was treated in the day surgery ward of the urology department and it couldn’t have been more positive. The surgeon is so good at his job, his bedside manner is
Impeccable! Unfortunately I was so nervous I’ve forgotten his name, Althing sure it was Abdu. The lovely lady that pushed my bed round to the theatre area was great, as was the young girl that took my vitals & particulars on arrival to the unit. Everyone was just calm & friendly. The kind lady in the theatre who warned me about how cold the cleaning fluid was, she was not kidding lol. This was a second attempt (personal reasons) at the procedure I was having and it was just so easy and quick that time. Well done all.
The staff in this hospital are excellent and well deserve the 5 stars.
Well looked after in a urgent situation staff were exellent
I attended Gartnavel as an emergency patient with detatched retina.
Treatment was exceptional and timely. All the doctors I met over a three month period in the Ophthalmic Unit were kind, unrushed, and explained everything thoroughly.
Laser treatment was followed up with Vitrectomy Retinal Surgery by Gerard McGowan. Staff in the Operating Theatre could not have been kinder.
Throughout what could have been thought of as an unpleasant procedure the relaxed atmosphere made it something and nothing.
Thank you to all involved.
Terrible experience at gartnavel hospital at a really scary time doctor rude and dismissive and couldn’t care less attitude, never showed any empathy or kindness and was sent away without any real help or information of what would happen to me worse experience off my life and totally ashamed of the nhs.
Rheumatology beware of the consultant at Gartnavel general hospital.
All medical staff are fantasic in The Brownlee.
