The hospital team were great, respectful, nice and available even at mid nights when the pain was severe. What amazes the most is the way they smile in the midst of challenges. Great team and great support.

84 year old woman…..Was taken in to A & E by ambulance called for by the local doctor after a fall down the stairs, sat for a couple of hours in the ambulance wheelchair in waiting room, went into see triage nurse then sent back to waiting room, waited another 5 hours only to be told the wait time would be another 6 hours, we left the hospital at that point and headed home, called local surgery the next morning and was advised to give 111 a call.. 111 sent us back to A & E in forth valley again, I explained to guy on reception about the wait the day before. After she was seen with the triage again, they made an appointment to go to Stirling hospital later on that night. Stirling staff couldn’t have been more helpful, x ray and advice, and the reach team contacted all in a matter of an hour … Stirling done more in an hour than the “flagship” hospital in Larbert could do in a day and a half

Went in mid day on the 20th April over suspected gallstones, referral was by the GP ,Got blood work taken and a cannular fitted waited around for hours before being sent to have a ultrasound, waited around some more in extreme pain for then to be seen by a specialist surgeon ,found her extremely rude she told me I'd need a mri but because of the time it was that "if I felt better" I'd be given medication and sent home to come back on Tuesday, I could barley walk ,my ribs were crushing my whole body, the pain was horrible,I had missed 2 days of work by this point for them to tell me to go home "if I was able" I protested I wasn't fit enough and they told me to stay against what they really wanted,I got a private room that night was fed on paracetamol and then the next day more blood work taken, waited almost untill half 2 that day to go for my MRI ,waited a further hour and a half (fasted for 20-22 hours) then was eventually seen by another specialist surgeon (or some one important to the surgeons) they looked at me said that I didn't have gallstones (even though on my ultrasound it showed shadow's and inflammation of the pancreas ) they said on the mri it shown that I had inflammation of the colon and they don't know what's going on,I have a vacation I'm Due to go on in less than 3 weeks and was worried over potentially having to cancel it,when I explained that to them and the fact that 6 years ago I went in the same hospital with the exact same pain having my appendix removed although they were healthy and didn't need it to continue to have the same pain and never got a diagnosis the Dr replied saying that the pain I had them years ago was a mystery and are in this case still a mystery today he said he hadn't a clue what was going on to cause the pain and he wasn't much help when it came to what could potentially happen if it came to cancelling my holiday he just told me to check if I'm insured for undiagnosed stomach issues,he said if I wasn't I may potentially need to cancel my holiday when I pleaded I needed documentation from him if I needed to cancel he said "I'm not telling you to cancel" and walked away, later that evening I saw him again, before seeing him a lady on the same ward as me had asked to speak with me and informed me everything I was saying I had sounded like chrons disease because she has chrons and knows from the symptoms I'm disgribing, so when I saw my Dr I mentioned it to him,he went from not knowing anything about the reasoning for my pain to suddenly agreeing it could be chrons or some other IG tract Issue,I was told he wanted a sample from me however nothing was instructed for me to produce a sample ,he told me I was being discharged the next day with antibiotics and would come back in a few weeks for a colonoscopy, when I asked why it couldn't have been done now (as I was in alot of pain and they Done the Mri the next day) he said it was a outpatient appointment, so follow up the next morning I noticed my legs were slightly swollen and sore,I felt a pulsation in the back of my calf when mentioning this to the dr the same lady I seen on the first day butted in to say its because I wasn't moving, and the Dr replying that isn't nescacary as it isn't to do with your stomach,I said I know but I fear blood clots ,once again I was ignored, when asked about my blood work they hadn't changed and was still showing inflammation but at 12 o'clock they discharged me I got my antibiotics but had to wait on other medication it was supposed to be ready for around 4ish ,I waited for 4 hours on it I came in to the pharmacy department and asked if it was ready they said it hadn't been made up yet and the pharmacy area was closing then I was informed that it wasn't going to be ready at all untill later again that evening and that I was lying about the prescription being ready at that appointed time ,The sample they needed I managed to give it in to them although they told me it wasn't a ASAP thing to have it and I should have given it to my Dr's surgery ,even when I was there except from the occasion in my private room that I saw being cleaned when I was in the ward I saw no cleaning and my bedding wasn't even changed ,the nurses I understand are very busy but it would take them 10 years to come with your medicine, if you asked them a question and they had to get someone to see you,the Dr's hardly came around ,once in the morning and once at night, when I was being discharged the staff wouldn't speak to you,all they kept doing was giving you paracetamol whenever you would ask for pain relief, always been sketchy of this hospital, my cousins wife was majorly ill after having their son due to negligence, when I had my appendix removed (didn't need to happen-the organ was healthy) I still had this burning sensation that was undiagnosed so they put it down to acid reflux and viral infection, then my granny was sent to hospital for 3 days she was sick, had every scan done, blood work all the time, she was severely ill the Dr's told my family they didn't know what was wrong with her after 3 days of her being attmitted ,a healthy women she was normally on the 4th day they told my family that she had organ failure and was dying with sepsis,I have always believed she didn't die with sepsis being the problem,I always remember her saying her stomach was burning, I believe she had some kind of gi problem as she was ill weeks before this and when she was admitted it was to late and the Dr's needed to put something on the death certificate, and now with myself ,I won't ever go to this hospital again, I should have been given the colonoscopy and been treated properly but All they wanted was a bed freed up so they sent me home with antibiotics still in pain not knowing what I really have and if it could be dangerous for me when it comes to flying, please avoid this hospital

My husband has Epilepsy and a brain bleed. He had seizures and was taken to this hospital. Sketchy care. When I picked up my husband to come home he was wearing someone else’s clothes. We were given a bag of stuff - cell phones, keys to a car, other clothing like used underwear and socks. I took all my husbands meds to hospital because it’s hit/miss if hospital will have critical life saving meds. Be aware this hospital can’t keep track of your meds. We’re missing some pills. I can’t get in touch with anyone that can even help find our pills. Healthcare seems to be held together with string. Very precarious. I told them my husband needs his pills to prevent seizures. I was informed that the hospital has trouble getting some of his drugs so they drugged him up with other stuff. Very scary.

I had a suspected mini heart attack and was home alone, eventually I felt able to call My gp who said I should have called an ambulance but I didn’t want the fuss but I did agree to go into hospital to the clinical assessment area for a heart trace and bloods to be taken so made way there… a lady in the green top (I think assistant) glared at me and in a rude manner asked my name and why I was there .. she asked if I was still in pain and I replied yes and then escorted me to a waiting area and told me my wait would be 5~6 hours … I sat for about 30 mins but I was in pain and thirsty so I went back told them to remove my name and that I was just going home after giving my name 2 times and lady in a dark blue top (nurse I think) glared at me and equally as rude as her colleague demanded my name …. I’m old enough to remember when hospital staff were thought on as angels …. Not anymore that’s for sure

This must be the most badly run hospital in Scotland. On the 14 occasions in 2 years visiting family members 2 who sadly passed away after being admitted here for non emergency reasons. 5 different wards and the only one which showed any professionalism or compassion was Intensive Care. Nurses , domestics on the other 3 wards were the most unprofessional people I've ever came across. Rude , loud and laughing about patients families and actually gossiping about patients so loudly I was disgusted. On one occasion visiting my father the "staff" actually came into his ward to look at us then whispered and laughed . When you call for an update on family they can't be bothered and sigh as if you were interrupting there usual gossiping. Beds not changed in 2 days when my son who has a longlasting infection and open wound should have his bed changed daily as should every single patient. It's your job staff ie domestics carers or nurses. Not standing gabbing about cruises or nights out etc or slagging off patients that you are paid to look after in a profession you chose to do. I must stress this is my opinion of the wards we have had to visit but talking to other people I'd say 80% of them say the same. Queen Elizabeth hospital Glasgow is the most professionally run hospital I've visited recently and is running like it should be during this pandemic. PATIENTS treated with RESPECT and amazing CARING STAFF but compare that to Forth Valley well its a total disgrace. My son was upbeat regardless of his illness and allowed to visit the large cafe and enjoy a nice meal etc but Forth Valley can't even open that facility and he is now so depressed with the difference in care that it breaks my heart we can't move him back to Queen Elizabeth. Get a grip on your staff Forth Valley and maybe retrain them in CARE. I'll say again not all staff but a high percentage in the wards I won't name shouldn't be in there job. FACT
