Natalie and Siobahn, made me feel at ease, whilst doing my bloods, which I was very nervous about.

I was told by my GP to attend the walk in centre to have a blood test conducted and an x-ray. They also told me to drop a stool sample with them to be sent away. The receptionist told me I shouldn’t have brought my sample and made me feel as though I had done something seriously wrong despite doing just as my GP surgery had told me to do. I would say the receptionist was verging on being rude and unhelpful. At the time I was extremely worried about what I had been told by my GP so to be treated that way was extremely upsetting, I would expect someone working on reception at an NHS facility to be professional, empathetic and supportive. The rest of my experience at the walk in centre was excellent. The staff conducting the x-ray procedure and the blood test were very professional and supportive. The nurses that took my blood were extremely helpful land advised me that they were able to send my stool sample off and ensured this was done despite being told different from the receptionist.

Receptionist could have been more helpful and less critical of me.

The service was very dismissive of my daughter who was told there was nothing wrong and then found to have to go to Blackpool Fracture Clinic and have her foot plastered.Meanwhile she was left in pain

The staff are too quick to make hasty decisions, extremely dismissive of the patient, making the individual feel that they are wasting staff time.This leaves the patient feeling undervalued and just a number. A little more care, compassion and professionalism is really needed. Not using good listening skills and making hasty dismissive decisions is causing mistakes to be made. This results in the patient bring in unnecessary pain for longer and still having to find an alternative route to get the problem sorted, which causes more inconvenience to the patient

I have a long standing hypertension condition but my visit was not for that. It was to have treatment for a wound. The visit went very smoothly I was treated courteously and everything from greeting to signage was perfect. The clinical treatment was very professional and kindly administered, I was kept informed what was happening , what to expect and what to do should I have any concerns. The whole process was like a well oiled machine but not at all impersonal .

It is hard to see how the system could be improved.
