I have had treatment at epsom hospital for many years and it's been great.
All is good
I have had a very good experience
Attended three appointments for hand therapy following dislocation and fracture of finger. Each time was seen promptly.
Very friendly and professional therapist (Bettine). Had limited movement to start with and over the course of a couple of months using exercises and splints provided my finger has recovered well.
I attend the ENT dept for treatment to my ears. This should be every 2 months. I had an appointment in February this year and again at the end of May. The consultant asked me to make an appointment for 2 months time. The department was unable to give me an appointment on the day, which was quite normal as appointments were controlled by St. Helier's hospital. I usually receive a letter a few weeks later. On this occasion I had heard nothing by early July and called St. Helier. They did not have an appointment for me and suggested I accept a booking for 13th September. I was told that accepting the appointment would get me on the system and they could then put me on a list for patients who could be contacted to fill in when an appointment is cancelled by someone else. The lady I spoke with was pleasant and was trying to help. I heard nothing more in the following month and by mid August I called patient care at Epsom who tried but could not help. I finally received a call yesterday bringing forward my appointment to September 5th.
I am supposed to be seen every 2 months. I have been seen once (late May) in the past 6 months. I have had 3 ear infections in the past 3 months! Epsom hospital ENT dept cannot cope with their workload. It does not save the NHS money because I keep going back to my GP surgery for courses of antibiotics. The infections also spread to my eyes adding to my discomfort and the GP's workload
I was referred to the dermatology department by my GP. I received a call from their reception asking me to attend at a time that I was not able. They were extremely rude to me and were bullying me into accepting that appointment. I have never been treated that way in my life.

Went to EDS Saturday afternoon/evening 18th August 2018 Firstly the Ambukance and Paramedics who came to my house, assessed me and took me to hospital were wonderful Alan and Sarah. Very kind, trying to make me feel less stressed, even made me laugh. At the hospital, there was a certain amount of waiting, but the paramedics had been so thorough that I was not worried. My husband and I were offered tea. The nurse who took blood samples was delightful. The Doctor was friendly, efficient and informative. This is the NHS at its best.
I ended up in A&E only 4 days after the birth of my daughter. Every memeber of staff that I saw that day was so kind and helpful and went out of their way to help me feel comfortable and accommodate me to feed my daughter between tests. I really appreciated the respectful care I received. Thank you.
Wards were very clean and staff were very kind and efficient.
