I was referred by my GP for gynaecological investigations. I was seen quickly and had a range of tests very swiftly and a full hysterectomy was done within 3 maths of first visit. I was given all clear two months later. Because of bereavements in my family I had to delay operation but the consultant and staff couldn’t have been nicer. They answered my questions - and I asked a lot- and explained things easily and well. My consultant Miss S Makrydima was lovely and really helpful and encouraging. My Macmillan Nurse Navlet was very helpful and responded promptly to emails in various ways. Thank you Epsom for looking after me so well.

I was treated in SWLEOC. The staff were all brilliant and the food was excellent. It was like staying in a four star hotel.

Operation excellent. Recovery ward excellent. Private room not to the standard of private hospitals. Some staff were not always caring as expected.but others were excellent.

I have had a few ops at Epsom at the orthopaedic centre and have always been treated respectfully and with kindness. The theatre staff kept me informed at every step so I always knew what was coming next. Mr Little introduced himself and immediately I felt in safe hands. The anaesthetist played a huge part in making me feel at easy as did the nurses.

I was originally seeing a consultant at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital for prolapse related issues following childbirth. They had suggested a few different procedures, however I was keen to get a second opinion and was recommended Dr Ammar by a mutual friend. I am so pleased that I asked for a referral as the recommended procedure by Chelsea & Westminster she deemed unnecessary and advised I should just have a vaginal hysterectomy and to keep my ovaries. She was very friendly and helpful and I felt very reassured during my whole operation, pre and post. My recovery was extraordinarily quick and am thrilled with the results. This was all done through the NHS and it was my first operation and general anaesthetic. Katy and her team were brilliant and felt I was well looked after. So many of my friends have similar issues and think are embarrassed to discuss and also think no womb equals being less of a woman! I feel more sexually confident, have no more periods or any risk of cervical cancer. I am 43 and knew I no longer wanted children and dealt with it early on rather than having to probably have the same operation in 10 years time.
