Went with my dad today as we had suspected he had sprained his ankle or worse due to the pain, we where worried that the wait would be hours long due to previous experience in a hospital in Bradford, but it took approximately 50 minutes to be seen by someone, which really surprised me and my dad, and then an additional 10-20 minutes to do some x-rays and be told what the x-rays show (thankfully just a sprain) the staff are also friendly and make sure you understand what will happen, the lovely doctor patiently explained to my dad what an x-ray was because my dad doesn't know English very well, will definitely be coming back if something where to happen again.
I was sent from my GP for an ultra sound, I was told not to get undressed and had to move my clothes in order for the gel and the task to take place .i ended up with gel on my clothes and I want even offered a tissue to wipe this from my body.
The woman that did this task I thought rushed the task,
I was put out by my visit and where possible I suggest you to ask to go elsewhere as the staff at Dewsbury do seem disinterested in their job.
The slip I was given to show to the staff in the US department was not given back to me despite the slip stating so..in order that I could depose of m6 information myself.
If you don’t like your job then don’t do it .
I feel that ageism played a part in this..and am convinced that the task was not done properly and that US staff at Dewsbury do things half hearted.
I attended today for a ct colonoscopy and was extremely anxious.. I needn't have been as all staff involved in my care were absolutely amazing..they really looked after me ..they are Angel's that walk the earth.
Absolutely brilliant service at Dewsbury A and E department last night. I was dealt with professionalism and care from nurses and consultant /doctor. All staff were working under very busy conditions and coped very efficiently. I can not praise enough their efforts. Thank you so much for your care and expertise, wonderful.

I was very happy with my care after surgery at Dewsbury hospital although Ifound it very busy at night which was hard for rest because of ward lights on due to admissions and the staff forgot to give my Dr a list of rrequired meds.
Highly recommend the Weight management clinic.
Clean and comfortable and all staff where caring, polite and very helpful
Ward 15 - Male surgical. Understaffed. undignified treatment made to walk from bed to theatre, no wheel chairs or trollies. Patients roaming around after return and in recovery. Staff communication down by shouting up and down ward. Other patients issues, diagnosis, treatment discussed in front or within ear range of other patients.
