I was sceptical about the Mindfulness programme before it started but actually found it enjoyable and useful. However, I have really missed the weekly sessions at Wellbeing. The staff, volunteers and other patients always created a positive atmosphere which is so important when most of my time is spent at home. Human contact is necessary to avoid loneliness and becoming inward looking. The online sessions have been a lifeline during the Covid-19 restrictions but are a poor substitute for face to face interactions. That is not to say they were not beneficial The staff did create a meaningful experience and it was goof to see people I had physically met previously as well as new people. I do hope that we can soon meet face to face again (I particularly enjoy thr freedom of being able to go round the grounds in my wheelchair) but in the meantime I hope I can join more online sessions.
