I was treated under the great care of Mr Malak, orthopaedic surgeon, and his team ,on the Cookson and Attenborough ward. The staff on this ward were amazing. They were friendly, caring and happy to help anytime night or day. They made me feel less anxious and kept me up to date what was going on with my well being and medication.

I underwent a cardiogram where during the procedure I was advised to have two stents inserted. I was given the option of returning at a later date or to have the stents fitted there & then which I opted for. Although all the staff introduced themselves I cant remember all their names so unfair to mention some. The Cardiologist & his surgical team were brilliant throughout the near two hour procedure, during which I was awake, making me feel at ease while explaining everything they were doing. The Cardiologist spoke to both before & after the procedure & answered any questions I had. The ward team were also great, led by a lovely Matron & made you feel you were in a high class hotel rather than an NHS hospital ward. They were attentive, polite & friendly at all times. I hope the hospital senior managers appreciate & value the great staff they have. Thank you :)

I feel that it’s very important i make a review for the staff on “Baird ward” I am currently still a inpatient here at the conquest hospital on Baird ward, I came into hospital with kidney pain to later on realise I have a positive covid test, during my stay here I’ve felt very unwell and uncomfortable, I spent a few hours in a&e when I arrived I was moved to a cubicle bed within a hour and really Looked after by ALL members of staff in that area, that evening around 22.00pm I was transported to the Baird ward, lovely friendly porter. I was greeted on the ward by a lovely gentleman who is a HCA on Baird ward unfortunately I didn’t get his name but if he gets a change to read this he kindly told me in conversation his wife works in the school I used to go to, so he will know it’s about him. The man reason of my review is because, that evening I was admitted the night staff were on, all very attentive made me feel very comfortable and looked After, come the morning it was turnover time and new HCA and nurses Arrived, then it went downhill my antibiotic fluid got spilt on my arm, I had to use a commode in my side room and was Told I wasn’t unable to use the toilets due to covid, fair point however this was not regularly changed, when needing to pass urine suddenly and having To wait for someone to come and change It didn’t make me feel looked after, a young nurse come round to change it spilt my urine all over the floor, her method to resolve that was to lay 4 towels down, this nurse’s surname was (baby) this was left around the commode area, over 2 hours later still there. I was gobsmacked how my treatment and the Way I was being looked after went from 10 - 4 but to my main point… during all this, feeling emotional and in Pain, uncomfortable as a 28 year old lady a ray of sunshine appears and he Really honestly was like a ray of sunshine, young gentleman HCA I would say in his late 20’s came in to my room he was so attentive so polite so caring, done everything by the books I asked if I could use the toilet before being taken for a scan the other nurse didn’t seem to happy about that as the porter was already on the ward “absolutely angel obv course you can” the other lovely HCA replied and cleaned The area that had been left and asked For everyone to leave the room so I could have privacy. This young man deserves a gold medal aswell as a pat on the back, he remains so professional during his tasks but also personally makes you feel safe and very Well looked after. I hope this review gets to him and he Gets praised for his hard work, I wish all the nurses and hca On Baird ward could be just like him, exactly how they should be. 5 star!!!!!

I fractured my wrist at about 0830, got to the hospital at 1040 and was back home by 1245 all plastered and with appointment for fracture clinic. A patient had a bleeding foot and kept walking about trailing blood. The staff including a doctor tried to clean it up quickly. Why was he not given a shoe cover so moving about it would not leave a trail? A & E staff were great dealing with some awkward patients and were well under the waiting time displayed of 2 hours. Thank you especially the ENP who gave me the diagnosis and plastered my arm

My mum was taken to A&E via ambulance on Tuesday of this week. The speed, professionalism and care was second to none. The hospital was full and staff clearly pushed but didn't stop them explaining everything that was happening.

Had to visit A & E on Sunday 4th August, 2019. I had had a fall the day before and wanted to have the very nasty wound dressed and get a tetanus injection as there were still traces of grit in the wound. We arrived at 8.45am and was seen almost immediately by a very nice male nurse from the Philippines (he had a ponytail - sorry we did not get his name). He was kindness itself as the wound was extremely tender. We cannot praise him enough for his compassion and care. He was very pleasant and the whole experience was one we will not forget. Thank you very much to that nurse.
