The surgeon and all the staff were excellent. They communicated very well with each other and so ensured a reassuring and safe experience. Thank you to everyone involved.

The doctors are terribly arrogant and very old school bedside manners. Terrible! Nursing staff are great

I was referred to the Conquest by my GP after noticing blood in my stools. Very quickly I had a CT scan and a Colonoscopy. Both of these depts. treated me with the utmost care and courtesy. As I suspected the results of these tests showed Bowel Cancer. My wife was encouraged to accompany me when the news was broken. The Surgeon I had been referred to Mr El-Dhuwaib reassured us and explained the procedure he was going to carry out, with Keyhole Surgery to speed up the recovery process. The Enhanced Recovery team then explained what to expect after the operation. This was done with the utmost kindness and understanding. After the operation which took 5-6hrs I then went to DeCham ward . There for 1 week I was visited by Mr El-Dhuwaib sometimes twice a day to check on my recovery. The Enhanced Recovery team encouraged me to move about as much as poss. The whole nursing staff of DeCham ward were really kind and caring and did everything possible to speed up my recovery. I was given several help line tel.nos. should I need help or advice after being discharged. Up to now I haven't needed to use this excellent service. My Wife and I have nothing but the greatest respect for the skill of the Surgeon and his team and all the nurses who made my experience at the Conquest all the more bearable. At times I felt like I was being treated in a Private Hospital. Allen Fuller

Some of the Ward staff were exceptional - a very mixed ward - and others were downright rude and shouldn't have been there. This is just the tip of the iceburg and I am currently going through a complaint process due to my situation.

I had an MRI scan this morning 19 October 2017 at 10.35. I had several concerns about this examination, but the care and encouragement from the staff was asolutely top notch. I had been dreading it, having had a scary time during three previous MRI's, but today managed perfectly. My thanks govto all concerned with my care today xxxx

This hospital is wonderful !!! Four times you have saved my life and given me many extra years without pain or suffering. This time it took many hours waiting to diagnose my condition BUT there were many more needy people than me, and I do not and did not expect the whole magnificent NHS to be waiting for my arrival and drop everything to attend to my sudden but minor discomfort. There is an intensive full-time programme of surgery and treatments for which those patients arriving at A&E are just the extras. It is worth remembering that before considering making ill judged and generalized criticisms. Moreover, your diagnosis was correct; you kept me in and operated the following morning, no doubt displacing someone to whom I am grateful and who should also not complain; and I was home the next day, with hardly any discomfort, no post-operative infection, and five weeks later the realization that a continuing nagging problem had gone forever. Great! Again! For anyone who has any doubts or fears I can tell you that the teams I have seen are superbly organised and managed, all utterly caring and kind, very competent and utterly dedicated. Every service and resource was provided in a timely and correct manner. Also, the beds are comfortable and the food is superb. We should be grateful to everyone. It's not everyone who has such a hard job and exacting schedule. One of my night nurses went home only to deal with the aftermath of a car accident and get no sleep before returning, cheerful and selfless again to look after me. Bless you and thank you all. PS We can and must afford the National Health Service. If only we could deal with government financial mismanagement elsewhere ... that's the proper target.

Visitors parking at times is very bad. The public car park is way too small and often queues right back to the roundabout out on the road, causing traffic congestion. I have abandoned my attendance on a couple of occasions. And after all that, parking charges are up there with the highest.

I was admitted with atrial fibrillation and had the best care possible -(I know this as recently I finished 35 years work in the NHS) I was treated with kindness consideration and expertise in particular by Dr Dickinson and Sister Cornelius who were superb The NHS has nothing to fear if other patients are treated in the same way
