Review of Community Midwifery Swindon Area Team - Community Postnatal written by a family member
28th November 2017

Mothers are not praised for their role as new mothers, clinically inaccurate advice forwarded, comments given that make new mothers anxious, lack of knowledge and experience of breast fed babies and how their bodies respond differently to those who are bottle fed, likewise your website has a guide to bottle feeding video prominently advertised but this is not the case for breast feeding. Lack of continuity with different community midwives depending on days attending. No courtesy contact made for day/time of visits.

Review of Marlborough Community Team written by a patient

I was a little disappointed that I felt as though I was not listened to and my husbands questions were not answered and it just felt as though the community midwife was judging at every meeting. Everything that I was concerned about I was told that we would discuss at 36 weeks. This was my first pregnancy after several miscarriages and I had several questions and concerns and was also desperate to get signed of consultant led care so I could give birth at the White Horse Birth Centre. Having said the above, at 35 weeks pregnant I had a 45 minute appointment where everything was sorted.

Very friendly and approchable, good understanding of issues and of autism, came up with good ideas to try, which worked. Kept their promise to phone me on the day they said they would.

Review of Intermediate Care Team (STARR) written by a patient
24th March 2016

The Physiotherapy care was good with plenty of encouragement and support when needed. The senior Occupational Therapist was very helpful over sorting out my home problems in order to make it safer to suit my needs. Privacy at initial interview is essential but was lacking in my case. Day to day care was concerning as, there often seemed to be a lack of continuity and communication. More thought needs to go into this as very few of the staff completely understand or speak fluent English. Toilets used by temporary residents and visitors, need to be cleaned or checked at regular intervals. The one near the entrance from the car park, was often very unhygienic. The ingredients used in the menus were reasonable but very badly cooked. There was a lack of variety and meals were often cold especially at supper - 5pm. More fresh vegetables would be an advantage and a greater choice of sandwich fillings, soups and desserts. used in retation.
