I am deaf and wearing hearing aids. This is on my records and should be flagged up for every appointment as it is a main communication issue. The staff would turn their head away to talk to me and mumble so I couldn't hear and couldn't do what they wanted me to do. When I told them that I am deaf and wear hearing aids, I was not taken seriously until I explained that I can't hear their instructions. They said that they couldn't see my records to see that I have this communication need.

Suggested improvements
A major communication issue like being deaf and wearing hearing aids should be flagged and this information given to all departments that I have appointments with.

The HCA and the nurse were amazing. They both made me feel very comfortable and calm. I was very anxious and nervous about getting coil fitted. The nurse was very informative and explained everything about the coil very carefully without rushing. The nurse was an expert and really good. The HCA was really nice and made me feel fine she was talking to me. I was explained everything well and got all the information.

Suggested improvements
Nothing.

When l arrived there was polite nurse on the reception who directed me to knock a closed to advise them that l had arrived. I knocked on the door and an abrupt women, sternly said”Sit in the waiting room until you’re called”. I was rather shocked at the rudeness when l had been advised to make my presence known. My name had not been taken at that point. I waited in the reception area another woman came out and said are you here for an appointment even though at that point l was not asked for my name. The Dr who completed the procedure was very apologetic once l had explained the initial experience of Loxford Polyclinic.

Suggested improvements
Less rudeness from staff and to be more respectful and welcoming. Patients need reassurance and care.

Sonny is really good and caring he is an asset to the team, he cares and shows empathy and compassion to his patients and is always so informative, he helped me when the toilets where broken and when he gave my injections they normally get bruised but with sonny he gets the light and makes sure he looks carefully not to accident hurt me. He is very kind.

Suggested improvements
The toilets were broken, the facilities such as parking is inadequate, only 1 male toilet and disable toilet has a see through gap in the middle which is not private. So out of the woman’s toilet and men’s only disable toilet was open and that one didn’t flush, if you go for a test and need to do a urine sample, you should be able to use the toilet facilities but it looked like it was out for some time. Please in future fix the toilet so the patients don’t feel awkward. The parking needs to improve or provide on street free parking for those going to the clinic albeit setup with ringo. So that patients can put in their registration on the touch screen if they parked nearby on street.
