The care, respect and sensitivity shown to me by everyone I encountered and particularly those who listened, supported and gave diagnosis was wonderful. I am greatly saddened by what the future holds, but everyone has been lovely and my next steps are my own to take. Thank you, everyone. I won't forget.

The building itself is showing its age and the consultation rooms could be more uplifting spaces in which to receive bad news.

she referred me on to other services. she did the best she could for me. I already knew about health needs, needed help with legal side. I am hoping they will be able to get me more help if case goes to court.

Suggested improvements
She was stuck as I have no bail conditions, under investigation so she was a bit stuck as couldnt intervene. If/when goes to court they can step in to help me. she gave me all the help she could given my circumstances.

I was able to get a referral to the proper services, which I was happy about. The person who did my sessions seemed to have her heart in the right place.

Suggested improvements
The sessions felt quite disorganised. There were a lot of silent gaps, where I would sit for sometimes minutes at a time, waiting for something to be written down or typed; a lot of the time this information was irrelevant. It felt like she was not super familiar with my case, and had not reviewed much before I walked into the room. The advice I was given felt very textbook and general, and as I have been under mental health services, it almost felt condescending. The biggest barrier I felt was the communication. I was unable to talk at my usual speed and had to significantly slow down what I was saying to be understood. I also had to rephrase a lot and felt as though my point was not always heard. She also struggled to communicate with me. This made for a not so great overall experience, though I am sure she is a kind person with good intentions.

I have things sorted now since then. I was really in trouble that day, and when I spoke to them, they were both really helpful. she understood me and told me a few things that I took on board. Can you pass on my thanks to her and the assistant who was in custody with her that day.
