I needed a hip replacement because of the severe pain and the effect this was having on my ability to do normal everyday things. I found that I was going out less and making excuses to not meet up with friends for social gatherings. I should have sought medical attention far earlier but was in denial saying that my hip would get better. Of course that was impossible. At long last I made an appointment to see my doctor who referred me to a specialist to appraise the situation. He referred me to Chelsfield Park Hospital and an appointment was made to see Mr Rohit Jain the consultant. After my initial consultation he recommended a total hip replacement to my left hip. I was booked to have the operation in early April 2024. I am now in week 10 after the operation and can do normal everyday things that I had basically given up doing. I wish that I had done something about my hip at least a year earlier. Mr Rohit Jain was brilliant. The surgery was carried out by a team who explained every step of the operation and made everything clear of what to expect together with the post operation steps. I was discharged the following day after the operation to start my recovery and have progressed very well.
