As you can imagine this was a difficult experience for me to go through. I recently self referred myself to the Maple Ward and after 5 days I discharged myself. The care I received was fantastic, the staff were lovely and made me feel at ease (considering they had other patients to care for!)
The only criticism I have is I felt deprived of my liberties and rights (Even though I was informally admitted) As a Healthcare worker myself I know my rights and the system very well! This shows that they treat every patient the same which is the right thing to do if though I felt deprived. I put myself in that situation and have learned from my experience.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff on the Maple Ward for my care. Especially Ella, Adam and the lovely bank staff lady plus the lady who gave me a very warm welcome to the ward. I’m sorry I can’t remember all of your names! Silly me! Oh and the bingo lady who wished me well as I left! Keep up the good work you lovely bunch.
In a ward with a Scitza patient who keeps screaming about squirrels- slightly concerned
Admitted to maple ward, I was nervous and anxious on arrival, I'm along way from home but I'm getting the best treatment and care from all staff on maple ward, this is one of the best I've been in and it's a slow process to recovery, only time will tell , 5 star for them and we'll deserved.
Watch the documentaries on the lives that have been lost at the Priory!
There are many more that have gone unreported in the media!
Their levels of negligence is astonishing.
Being a patient there is quite possibly one of the lowest points of an individual’s life. Yet the neglect, cut backs, corner cutting and breaches in confidentiality etc. are endless.
The staff are treated appallingly, and stretched to the max (minimum staff that the Priory can get away with legally)
Incidents regularly going unreported and sadly this has cost many their lives.
I urge you to watch the documentaries and do your research. This is NOT a place of safety or a competent environment that you would ever want your loved ones to be in!
I have witnessed first hand some terrifying and unbelievable things in that hospital.
An awful company!!!
It's a disaster waiting to happen!!
Terrible experience there! Avoid at all costs!!!
A shambolic, dangerous and incompetent mess.
If there is ANY other hospital available for your loved one ... FIND IT!!!
Look at the hospital statistics for mistakes, incidents and inquests (several young patients who have taken their own lives due to staff failings!)
The Priory are a disgraceful money focussed, patient money making machine.
Appalling!
