Excellent service. I did not know what to expect however from start to finish Chase Farm was professional, welcoming and dealt with my illness brilliantly. I visited the Urgent Care Centre after becoming unwell with throat pain. Nadia the senior clinician working that day was extremely helpful. She advised me about my illness with extreme understanding and care. If i could give more stars I would. Thank you Nadia and the Team at the Urgent Care Centre.

Nursing staffs, physiotherapy staffs and young trainee doctors, particularly Dr Waleed Abdulla in the ward were very good to me while I was there following “Decompression Surgery of Spinal Cord”. I shall highly recommend the Chase Farm Hospital for the surgery and care a patient needs.

I had a appointment for 24th of November 2022 at 9pm with a doctor at ENT at Chase farm hospital, as my breathing through my nose is very severe I can hardly breath through my nose, the ENT doctor that I had a appointment with on 24th of November 2022 at chase farm hospital told me that he will refere me for a scan straight away and that I should receive the scan appointment within a week or two, and that after a couple of weeks he will ring me and arrange for a operation for my nose as he said looks bent and that’s why I can not breathe, I waited over 5 weeks and still never received a appointment for a scan also no phone call from the ENT doctor from chase farm hospital as promised by him, so I rang the ent at chase farm hospital today to chase them, but I was shocked when the secretary told me that the ent doctor at chase farm hospital that told me that he would refer me for a scan had not even bothered to refere me, why are some doctors at chase farm not keeping to there word for ?, why should I have to keep chasing them for them to do there job properly for ? this is not fair on me at all, I am a elderly women 60 years old, and he knew that I can hardly breath through my nose and that my GP refered me to ENT chase farm hospital as a emergency, and he still never kept to his word he did not bother to refere me for a scan when he said he would he also never bothered to keep to his word and ring me to arrange a operation on my nose, appalling care from chase farm hospital at ENT

Everything was perfect. The only thing which made me very upset was the driver from the ambulance who complained to take me upstairs in my flat. The other was very nice person who hadn’t complained was quite when the driver said to me that: nobody said to him that he should take me upstairs and he should take me back to the hospital. After an spine operation or any other procedure a patient became very fragile, crazy to come back home and a person say this things to you it made me feel very bad. Both took me upstairs but I think the driver should not make this comment in front of the patient.

The hospital was excellent, welcoming and clean. The staff were kind and caring. Many of the team were incredibly friendly and joyful. The only issue that I faced was that I trusted the nursing team to be experts in their care of patients with hip operations. When they taught me to inject my blood thinner (a pre-prepped syringe), they advised me incorrectly and I was left with brutal bruising over my abdomen. Once my daughter showed me how to correctly inject, i didn't have any bruising at all. Another issue was that I suffered from severe gastrointestinal sensitivities, and my daughter realised that I was not prescribed any stomach protecting medications (despite being on NSAIDS etc for long periods of time). Finally, on discharge I did not receive compression stockings (which I was later informed should not have been removed by the nurses). The above lead to an A+E admission and stay in hospital. To summarise, although the care was great from the initial appointment, there were clearly key components of the discharge that were lacking 1) prescriptions of correct medicines 2) teaching 3) aftercare advice. Overall, the care I received was good, just some issues that are very easily preventable.

I spent 2 nights at chase farm after an operation. I can’t fault the care and attention I received from the staff on the post op ward. They always introduced themselves at the beginning of each shift and they were all so friendly and knowledgable. Most noticeable was that they seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs but also cared about each other too . A real team effort -
