Waiting list far too long for my child to receive much needed therapy. Therapist not adaptive to my child’s additional needs despite numerous meetings before therapy started and promises made. I felt like the therapist doesn’t want to work with my child and that my child’s needs are too complex for her. My child’s needs are not being met and his mental health is deteriorating. This is a terrible position to be in as a parent especially as I have had such hope while waiting 2years that CAMHS could help make positive changes for my cold and our family. No joint up working with community paediatricians on both sides. Please listen to parents and carers who know their children best. Please be enthusiastic about wanting to help my child and family. Be more creative, fun and flexible to be inclusive to individuals needs.

This is a review of CAMHS community based in Sat Mary’s. Absolutely appalling lack of action. Dismissive of concerns. Not listened to.And completely missed a serious mental illness

The location was very welcoming and all the doctors were addressing patients with smiles and an enthusiastic attitude.

CAMHS were quick to alert the crisis team when it became clear I could not keep myself safe, and checked in with me before I went into hospital. They were always caring and involved, though I felt I could have been more included in the process (though, perhaps them taking control was necessary).

During the two years in which my teenage daughter was under the care of Dr Beeson and Dr Lewis, we have only praise for this service. Caring, respectful, honest, friendly, professional are some words which describe them and the service. Receptionists and secretaries always friendly and compassionate - always mindful of the effects of mental health on the whole family. Without this service and at the high standard offered I honestly don't know how we would have coped. Thankfully my daughter is now well enough to be discharged. She wanted me to add that she always felt listened to. Thank you so much.
