The hospital was amazing and the staff were amazing during my stay, the only problem stems from my pre operation assessment which was done a week before my operation, I was told everything was ok, I came in for my surgery on the 23rd August 2018 at 7.30 am was changed in to a gown, and was all prepped for surgery, my time had come and gone and it wasn’t until 18.00that night that the surgery was cancelled by my eniasatist and surgeon as they had picked up that my potassium levels were only at 2.5 and should have been picked up in my pre assessment, if I had not had a 2nd blood test done on the surgery day I could have died on the operating table, I was booked in to the hospital that night for a week to have my potassium levels raised to get me in a fitter position for the surgery, on the ward the staff were amazing, all caring and I couldn’t fault them at all. I was treated with dignity and respect and they deserve a great deal more respect and paid more for the jobs that they do.
