Come a long way from about 5 years ago. Treated well and the nurses were great. The hospital was clean and were cleaned a few times whilst in the ward. Improved tenfold and the nurses were great.

The staff on Gosfield Ward went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. During these covid times, they provided the care of not only as staff but missing family and friend visitors. They were compassionate, friendly and truly wonderful

Today 20th October 2020 - I had 'Day Surgery' in Ward B448 for a Prostrate Biopsy with a general anesthetic - ALL the Staff were extremely FRIENDLY & Very Professional - Including the Receptionist, Nurses, Anesthetists, Surgeons & Cleaning Staff. Even smiled at some of my 'jokes' which I'm sure they have heard a million times before. In surgery, after a few 'breathes' of the oxygen mask I was out light a light & woke up in the recovery room with someone looking after me. The Tea & Toast (& marmalade) were 1st Class - Breakfast in bed !! Followed later by a second cup of tea and two biscuits (I needed to supply another urine sample !!) I can not praise the NHS staff of Ward B448 highly enough (I hope they get to see this review.) All the Very Best & Thank You for looking after me today (Next Time I will bring a Large Chocolate Cake !!) Cheers from the WW1 -Stow Maries 'Patient' x

A&E is a dangerous place to be as no one listens to patients or carers, Especially now when family can’t be there to speak up for the patient. The A&E doctors nearly killed my father even though they were told 4 times a treatment would kill him if they used that method to treat him. No joke we got to the hospital with seconds to save his life. Then only for 4 days later my elderly mother fell and badly broke her wrist, banged her head and hurt her back. The wrong doctor tried to put her bones back into place with terrible results only for her to have to have it done again and now she’s left with a broken arm that will never be 100% an operation was talked about but they think she will be better without but I have no confidence in what they say. Her eye was not even looked at and we were told by a doctor at Broomfield a few days later it could be a fractured eye socket but he wouldn’t refer her as could take months to go back to A&E and sit and wait. Also nothing done about her back pain. Plus due to covid she had to be in A& E on her own she was discharged 11.59 pm with no family there out into the cold wet night at 78years old with a badly broken arm , black and blue face and bad back after a nasty fall By the time I reached the hospital she was leaning up against a wall outside all on her own. Is this great treatment!!! I think not. Both my parents and family are traumatised by how Broomfield A&E treated them.

My Father was admitted to the Rayne and then moved to the Tollsbury ward. On both wards my father received excellent care and was made aware, and then we were made aware of what was happening with dignity, care, and grace by all Doctors and nurses involved. We were spoken to with complete respect and without being given any false hope or promises. My father was made to be extremely comfortable and the wonderful nurse (Sandra) who was in contact with me at the end and when I got to the hospital to say goodbye was an angel. To know he was in such great care in such a faultless environment from my point of view has been an extreme weight lifted off my chest at such a difficult time. Thank you to all that were there for us. Your compassion and professionalism, as well as personal empathy for our situation has made things more bearable.

On Tuesday 28th August 2020 I was admitted to Broomfield Hospital via my Doctor. From the moment my husband and I entered the hospital to the moment we left we could not have received better treatment - from ALL the staff. Everyone was so helpful and thorough and even managed to smile (even though they were all under pressure). I cannot praise the staff at this hospital enough - they made me feel safe and well looked after. And they tested me so thoroughly as if they had all the time in the world! What a wonderful, caring and professional staff. Thank you so much for looking after me.

Broomfield Hospital had absolutely fantastic facilities and all of the staff I met were very friendly, helpful, and understanding. I have a mental disability that affects my ability to communicate and process information, and they made as much effort as I needed to accommodate that. All of the rooms that I needed to use (waiting ward pods, aneasthesia room, and recovery ward) were clean and well-equipped, and gave me a great deal of privacy. My procedure and recovery went completely smoothly. The only downside was that I was waiting for a long time for the operation, but this was just before the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and therefore completely understandable. I would absolutely go to Broomfield Hospital again, if I needed to.
