Pregnancy assessment unit - heartlands hospital I was in labour but the midwifes sent me home twice saying its the start of my labour and its irregular but I had my baby within 4 hours of them seeing me. The midwifes think they know a woman's body more than her, I had back labour that's why the machine wasn't catching my contractions but u need to listen to them mother to be especially if this is her 2+ child!!! All thanks to my husband who called the ambulance because of them humiliating me I refused to leave the house. I was in spontaneous labour by the time ambulance came and I was in hospital. I also have Gbs group strep b for which I need antibiotics during labour which I didn't get but thank god nothing happened to my newborn

The best care I could have asked for and beyond. I had an elective c section during the Coronavirus and all the staff Provided the best care to ensure the wellbeing of me and my baby. I was apprehensive originally now I can say it was the best hospital stay of my life . Highly recommended to anyone who is anxious about a c section

Amazing experience, I’ve never felt so looked after and safe. I would definitely recommend to future women who experience c-sections. Thank you very much! I will never forget this experience

I was on ward 4 after lung surgery, in hdu for a while and the support i received was excellent. A bit of a trek from home but worth it. I can't fault anything. Nhs professionals all of them. Thankyou.

Utterly disgusting my baby was born and taken from me, his hospital notes have been disposed of. Whilst away from me he stopped breathing and an mri scam showed he has had trauma to his head. Now has a brain injury. Do not trust the midwives at this hospital. I will NEVER return to this maternity unit. No explanation, no apologies just being ignored by the governing midwife and obstetrician. Lies about his care , he ended up on nicu treating him for infection because they wasn’t told what had really happened to him. I lost the first 10 days with my baby boy. I was never offered skin to skin. My son has a future which includes cerebral palsy all due to the neglect and care of the midwife team on the maple ward at this dreadful place.

Absolutely disgusting service down at Birmingham Heartlands twice now whilst I have been in the hospital I’m my gown and stockings awaiting surgery, having done all the pre checks etc they have cancelled my operation and sent me home arguing they have a bed crisis and therefore no bed for me, despite booking me in giving me a letter stating they have a bed for me!!!! They sent two people home with operations for cancer too, service is trash the ward was filthy the toilets were fowl, you would get better service at the RSPCA!!!! The place is inhuman avoid like the plague!!
